We have had a look at the Election manifestos of the four major parties in the UK in the run up to the General Election on July 4th.

Here we analyse the proposals in each manifesto on the issues that are relevant to us. We want to know how parties will safeguard children and young people who self-identify as trans; safeguard all children from gender self-ID policies and propaganda; protect parents, families, and all professionals who work with children; and protect the rights and safety of women and girls.

Thanks. That's very useful. Extraordinary that it's only the Conservatives who are explicit in their pledges to protect women and gay people while the left wing parties fall short. If you'd asked me ten years ago, I'd have said that there would be no chance of that.
Strange times we live in. I still haven't decided who to vote for. The Tories track record is abysmal in every other area. I just wish Keir Starmer had a pair of balls and Labour had stepped up to the plate

Reform and Reclaim are clear.

As is the Communist Party.

How was the panel discussion Chaos? Is it worth me finding it on iPlayer to watch?

Not really. Zoe Strimple stuck up for biological women and highlighted the problems but they aren't taking the needs of us 51% seriously and the SNP woman was doubling down on basically 'be kind'.

Edinburgh People are standing five candidates, one in each of the five Edinburgh constituencies. This is their policy on the subject:

Women’s Rights Policy
We call for Women’s safe spaces to be kept safe, including women’s toilets and changing rooms. The definition of a woman must not be changed to include men who have transitioned to becoming woman-like. Men who have transitioned to become woman-like should not be allowed to compete in women’s sport.

Candidate list:

  1. EDINBURGH NORTH & LEITH: VOTE Caroline Waterloo
  2. EDINBURGH EAST & MUSSELBURGH: VOTE Jane Gould
  3. EDINBURGH SOUGH: VOTE Mark Rowbotham
  4. EDINBURGH SOUTH WEST: VOTE Marc Wilkinson
  5. EDINBURGH WEST: VOTE Nick Hornig

Only the names of the five EDINBURGH PEOPLE candidates will be on the ballot paper. The party name 'EDINBURGH PEOPLE' will not be on the ballot paper as we are a new party and did not have time to register with the Electoral Commission (which takes 2 months+).
