Haven't finished the video yet, it's nearly half an hour.

"Why detransitioning after 25 years was the most healing thing I have ever done."

Why detransitioning after 25 years was the most healing thing I have ever done.

I want to be clear that this is my experience. I do not speak for or represent all people that transition. The video is really about healing through radical...

I haven’t watched it yet, but I do wonder how long the current wave of transitioners are going to take to realize transitioning actually doesn’t cure anything. I suspect there will be a mass wave, but it may be many years down the line, as we see here.

If you irrationally hate something about your body, however extreme the feeling, then changing that part of your body doesn’t really fix anything.

Fixing severe mental health anxieties or self-hatred cannot be achieved by leaning into them. That has to be mentally damaging in itself as it sends a message agreeing that you weren’t good enough, just as you were.

That was a lovely video. The natural pacing as he thinks and speaks - a message of self-acceptance.

I don't know who this person is, or much about their story (yet) but this really resonated:

^How many of us are really here, present, not trying to be someone else, better, different but getting to know ourselves, allowing that to be revealed, rather than being held in the self protection of denial and there, bound , unable to feel lest we feel too much or, witness something about ourselves that we are not ready to accept.
Can we accept that we are not who we thought we were and simply be the witness to the mystery of our own unfoldment and in that witnessing, without fear marvel at the unknown within us.^

I stumbled across Sam's videos myself a couple of weeks ago. He's been through so much and I think a very important person to listen to, especially as a reminder that TiMs aren't always AGP and that holding empathy for what many trans identified people may have been through is important. Especially as "trans" is being sold as a cure-all solution to the very vulnerable.

I just had to turn off the video of smug "female" dad in a dress saying some dads are female. It was giving me the rage. I haven't watched the video of Sam but if he doesn't try to tell me (a 50yo woman) what woman is, then I'll be far more inclined to listen.

@ZeldaFighter You saw a so-called female dad in that video I linked?

No, my apologies, it was a video in a different thread about daughters of trans widows. The two threads together made quite a contrast!
