'The Abortion Services Safe Access Zones (Scotland) Bill was agreed by 118 votes to 1 at its final stage of consideration in the Scottish Parliament today, sparking scenes of jubilation among supporters.
It brings an end to protestors being able to intimidate women seeking abortions or health care experts, by establishing 200 metre wide exclusion zones where such disgraceful scenes will be prohibited by law.'

Looking at that photo, I assume the neon signs saying 'Ram it Bunty' would also be disallowed? That looks just as distressing as the people standing with boards.

Finally some good news in Scotland for once.

118 to 1. Makes me wonder about that 1, and I don't usually wonder about the against voters.

Good news for the poor women not having to deal with that hate during an extremely emotional and vulnerable time.

It's fantastic news - it's just astounding how long it's taken. There's been public talk about it for years. I signed the petition in 2021, which in the end had more than 26,000 signatures. The public consultation finished almost 2 years ago.
