At Let Women Speak we foster a community in which all women feel empowered to speak. We achieve this through our free speech events, they are free to attend. We are so proud that women across the world are using the #LetWomenSpeak hashtag as a rallying cry.

All Let Women Speak events are held in outdoor public places. Places are chosen so that they are as accessible as possible and not far from public transport.

There are no tickets, anyone can turn up, and anyone can speak (but we ask that men wait until the end). You can speak about whatever you like, these are free speech events.

As always, it is completely free to come to our Let Women Speak events, and no one will ask to see a ticket! However, at Let Women Speak we are very lucky to have an extraordinary team of stewards who give up their free time to enable women to speak. They are all volunteers, but we need to ensure that they’re not out of pocket. Each UK event needs a £2000 steward and security fund to make it possible. Can you explain how this should have been allowed? And I wonder if this is the clinic that you once started a thread on to praise one of the clinicians.

That judge is a fucking travesty, how could anyone vaguely rational conclude, publicly and in writing, that an adolescent girl who thought that taking testosterone would make her grow a penis was competent to take it?

And the doctor - how can he live with himself? Surely a doctor should explain treatments in terms comprehensible by any patient? Yet he just blithely carried on.

I know sinner.

But apparently, this decision should be celebrated.

One thing though about the poster trying to portray Helen’s words as being the problem rather than that decision and others like that decision, is that poster’s efforts back fire so much that the assumption that they are a sex realist plant has to valid. Because, every time, we have yet another opportunity to show the degree of harm that this ideological elevation of a philosophical belief over material reality has had and is having. Supposedly the very opposite of what the poster supposedly intends.

It is uncanny.

Profoundly stupid people are everywhere on the internet, and frankly, they're not my problem, and even if they were, I just don't have the time.

So do those who have a thing about humiliation. One other of those likes to spice it up with name changes after varying periods of time away. But they too always return.

I just figured a few years back that I may as well let others see my workings as I seek to unpick just what causes the dissonance alarms to go off in my head. I also find it forces me to keep evaluating anything new. Hence I laugh constantly at the attempts to portray the regulars on this board as being the ones who are misinformed and who can’t change and adapt with new information.

Whereas you usually just blow the crap away with succinctness.

I know it must be infuriating and tiring to have to repeatedly address the same (rubbish) points but as a newer member and most of the time a lurker, I just want to say it is so useful to see these points addressed time and time again for those less familiar with the arguments. So thank you @Helleofabore and @BezMills and @AlisonDonut and others for always taking the time to do it, I really do think it makes a huge difference.

Well that's an interesting point. So the suggestion on an earlier thread that CassieAdam was in fact a double agent could be true.

Far from bogging us down in endless repitition of basic facts, and apparently never grasping them, in fact they promote the opportunity to restate the obvious.

The problem is, is that if very single thread on FWR becomes the same cycle of whatabouterry, no discussion ever reaches a point of more indepth discussion.

Yes that’s true that it does pull lots of threads the same direction and derails the conversation, which is frustrating but hopefully at least not totally in vain!
