Single sex therapy group

Heartened by a tiny bit of common sense today.

I had an assessment for a NHS psychological therapy group, for survivors of childhood sexual abuse. The psychologist told me that the group would all be women, and run by women therapists. I asked if she actually meant real female xx women, and had a reassuring reply “yes it’s a single-sex service, of course I mean actual women, not pretend ones. Women that were born girls and have grown up to be women. There’s no way you could feel safe with men in the group”.

She got it. It shouldn’t be remarkable, but sadly it is.

That is encouraging.

I'm glad you have a psychologist who understands, and I hope the group is useful.

Sorry that you've been through what you have to need to attend such a group, but glad to hear that you have one less thing to worry about! I hope the group helps 💐

Thank you for sharing. As a survivor myself, I completely understand the importance of this. Hope you find the support you are looking for - it's a very promising and therapeutically ethical start.

That’s amazing. Thank god for that.
