"data shows that 800,000 women a year are sexually assaulted, there are 1 million domestic violence reports a year, and the National Crime Agency estimates that 750,000 adults have a sexual interest in children"

Sickening. But what can be done?

Eight in 10 convicted in UK over child abuse images avoid prison, NCA says

Is that rhetorical?

  • Stop the chipping away of safeguarding measures and principles we’ve taken years to put in place.
  • Stop the slide towards a de facto system of self ID for trans identifying men (particularly) and women. I’d go further and repeal the GRC as the original fudge it was created for has long been made redundant.
  • Stop groups with members who have links to organisations like PIE having access to schools and children.
  • Stop discounting sentences for any crimes that have a DV, SA or CA element to them. Anyone convicted of these offences should have to serve their full term. If we need more prison spaces to achieve that then allocate a budget and build them. Make serial offenders serve progressively longer sentences each time they reoffend. Be prepared to lock them away for life if they can’t reform.

There’s a lot more we could do around relationship education for younger men (and helping young women with boundary setting) too.
