Remember time this insane Labour TRA rounded on Miriam Cates for sharing her experience of a trans woman staring at her in a toilet and her feeling scared https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-64321754

do not vote Labour in. Keep this out of our children’s schools, keep women’s spaces safe and help lesbians stop being hassled. Pls do not vote this madness In

Lloyd Russell-Moyle

MP Lloyd Russell-Moyle sorry for tone in gender debate

Lloyd Russell-Moyle was told to "moderate his language" after accusing a Tory MP of "transphobic" remarks.

0.1% of women have a penis, according to the Labour leader. Estimated 35000 women with penises. Well at least he's done the sums

Given that only 5,000 GRCs have ever been granted and some of those will have been to female born trans people, that means that according to Starmer there are over 30,000 "women" in the UK whose genitalia and legal sex are both male.

The Tories have been in power since 2010. They have not kept us safe. They have allowed this to happen. The NHS and local Councils follow their rules. The Tories run the Civil Service. They were in power 4 years ago when JKR spoke up. They've done nothing about the bullying, harassment and women since then or before.

Everything that has happened is on the Tories' watch. Stop going on about Labour - Labour haven't been in power for 14 years!

They haven't done enough, sure, but they commissioned the Cass Report, they have changed prison policy and they shelved plans for self ID and the trans inclusive ban on conversion therapy. Labour say they haven't done enough to protect prioritise "trans rights". It's reasonable to assume that things would be worse if Labour had been in power during this time.

I'm not sure what the Tories are supposed to do about trans activist scrotes on Twitter abusing JK Rowling from their mum's basement in Ontario or California.

When you lay it out like that, it does make me wonder... whether he pulled that number out of a spreadsheet, or somewhere the sun doesn't shine

But it is never spoken about on doorsteps...🤔

It's definitely been spoken about on our door step when we we're canvassed Labour a few weeks ago. I'm looking forward to discussing it with our local Lib Dems too 😁

InvisibleBuffy · 30/05/2024 09:03

The Tories have been in power since 2010, but they're not likely to be in power much longer. We are almost certainly going to have a Labour government and that's why it's Labour's tootsies who need to be held to the fire. We need to make sure that Labour sets out their position now so that later it's harder for them to wibble and backtrack.

Also, just because the Tories are bad for women on multiple levels, it doesn't mean thar Labour are our saviours. And vice versa, Labour being shit on women's rights, doesn't mean the Tories are suddenly our saviours either. They're both cheeks of the same arse and we need to hold both parties to account.

This was a good move by Starmer though. It would only take one short video of Lloyd losing his shit at KJK and suddenly he's having all his other candidates asking for a sound bite. We don't know where he will finally stand but he clearly knows it would go badly for Labour with the public.

Scruffily · 30/05/2024 07:36

Given Labour's deselection of this man, that would indicate that women are pretty safe with them. Certainly nothing the government has done in the last 14 years leads me to feel safe with the Conservatives.

Except he doesn’t seem to have been suspended due to his well documented behaviour of intimidation and bullying within Parliament. Even towards Rosie Duffield, a MP from his own party. Labour seems to let that behaviour happen without comment. So what you claim, seems to be more idealised than a true reflection of current Labour’s values.

Bloody hell these people are bloody mad. The rage is off the charts. We would definitely be fucked with them in government. Thanks for posting this.

😂
To be fair to the young female canvasser she didn't flinch once and just wrote down all my concerns re: Labour and single sex provision etc.
Now they have my views and address I'm going to be one of the first in the stocks though, should they get in 😂

oatmilk4breakfast · 30/05/2024 10:13

Please just vote tactically wherever you are to make sure Conservatives don't get in. We've had too much trashing of everything. We need change now.

Fair comment and generally I agree.

WhatWillSwingIt · 30/05/2024 10:51

Please vote tactically to keep GC MPs in - so if your MP is Kemi Badenoch, Ash Regan, Joanna Cherry, Miriam Cates, Rosie Duffield, Liz Truss, Suella Braverman, etc - vote for them, not party politics.

Change is only good in one direction.

How do you know it won't get worse with Labour in? Have they actually issued their policies yet?

WhatWillSwingIt · 30/05/2024 10:54

Of course the male allies too David Davies of Monmouth springs to mind.

jotajil · 30/05/2024 11:00

In reply to the news that Lloyd Russel-Moyle The Brighton Kemptown MP has been suspended due to a complaint made 8 years ago.
My questions:
Why is he only now being suspended if the complaint was made 8 years ago?
Could it be anything to do with the fact that Kelly-Jay Keen the new Party of Women is standing against him? https://www.partyofwomen.org
Is he running away?
Anyone know what the complaint was about?

@Heylo thank you for this reminder of how fantastic Miriam Cates is and what LRM is really like.

Careful, you'll have the Labour shill that frequents these Boards down on you like a ton of bricks in their mind it is okay for Miriam Cates to be treated like that because of her faith.

All those thinking that suspending LRM was Keir Starmer getting tough, think again I doubt it had anything to do with him after all he said and did absolutely nothing when the above happened and it wasn't only Miriam Cates LRM targeted he went for Rosie Duffield as well.

KS goes into high dudgeon about a comment on his 1% of women have a penis because Brianna Ghey's mother was visiting Parliament that day, but abuse of women by one of his own MPs? Tumbleweed.

Yes I agree with this. I do think that people are giving this real thought now.

Yes she is generally hated on here.

Rightsraptor · 30/05/2024 13:00

I imagine he has a whole, long history of undesirable behaviour covering quite a few bases and Starmer & co have been waiting to get rid of him.

At least we can infer from this move that he doesn't represent the image the LP wants to present right now. Which seems vaguely hopeful.

BezMills · 30/05/2024 13:06

It's not bad news. Except if you're him or on his team...

You can’t say it’s not on the doorstep

I doubt it had much thought beyond '99.9% is a synonym for "almost all" and doesn't fully commit me to either side.'

He forgot (a) what happens when you apply a small percentage to a large number (such as the UK population) and (b) that women can do sums.
