Remember time this insane Labour TRA rounded on Miriam Cates for sharing her experience of a trans woman staring at her in a toilet and her feeling scared https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-64321754

do not vote Labour in. Keep this out of our children’s schools, keep women’s spaces safe and help lesbians stop being hassled. Pls do not vote this madness In

Lloyd Russell-Moyle

MP Lloyd Russell-Moyle sorry for tone in gender debate

Lloyd Russell-Moyle was told to "moderate his language" after accusing a Tory MP of "transphobic" remarks.

The ginger gender finger jabber has been suspended as a result of a complaint and will not be eligible to stand in this election.

ValueAddedTaxonomy · 30/05/2024 06:08

Is he not suspended now? I mean, not that that in itself is a cause for confidence.

I do wonder if Labour will feel more capable of being realistic, evidence-based and , well, just normal on the issues related to trans activism once they are in power, as opposed to flailing around chaotically for votes. Might be a forlorn hope though.

AlisonDonut · 30/05/2024 06:08

But not due to this behaviour, which is fully endorsed by Labour.

Fair enough.

SinnerBoy · 30/05/2024 06:20

Unfortunately, AlisonDonut that's entirely correct.

AutumnCrow · 30/05/2024 06:23

LRM thinks it's something from 8 years ago, and it's a fit-up.

i.e. not for being increasingly unhinged this past couple of years.

ValueAddedTaxonomy · 30/05/2024 06:35

If it is a fit-up, though, then why are they choosing to fit him up? Starmer is shockingly authoritarian when it comes to displacing locally chosen candidates by hook or by crook, in order to stage manage the partyy into a successful election result. So I gues we need to look at what the narrative is that is causing them to oust him. I agree with others that the ousting isn't a simple matter of principle in response to misogynistic views and aggressive political behaviour. But it may be a response to an awareness on Labour's part that the views heespoused are increasingly being viewed with hostility by the electorate.

BezMills · 30/05/2024 06:54

I think the liabilities stacked up and up, to the point where they pulled him. Oh well, shrug emoji

WhatWillSwingIt · 30/05/2024 07:03

He isn’t able to keep his cool and would probably have said the quiet bit out loud- about Labours plans to get on with GP enabled self-ID and the wrecking of women’s rights once elected - creating some damaging film clips as he goes.

MrsTomRipley · 30/05/2024 07:07

I think he was pulled because they were afraid he would spontaneously combust if he had to face KJK.
I'd have paid good money to see that.

EffieeBriest · 30/05/2024 07:15

It’s a good thing though ?

BezMills · 30/05/2024 07:22

I have no idea if it's a swing or a roundabout. My guess is it's more likely to do with Gaza / Corbynite tendencies than anything else

Scruffily · 30/05/2024 07:36

Given Labour's deselection of this man, that would indicate that women are pretty safe with them. Certainly nothing the government has done in the last 14 years leads me to feel safe with the Conservatives.

Yeah no I mean what could be wrong with a man who thinks only 0.1% of women have penises
ir was it 0.01%? So hard to remember

BezMills · 30/05/2024 07:41

I think Labour belatedly realise they have lost credibility on FWR and the spates of unconvincing Labour advocacy is ... the best word I can think of is ... interesting

BezMills · 30/05/2024 07:43

0.1% of women have a penis, according to the Labour leader. Estimated 35000 women with penises. Well at least he's done the sums

But transphobic of Starmer to deny the identities of the majority of tranwmen. Tut tut tut.

ZeldaFighter · 30/05/2024 08:13

The Tories have been in power since 2010. They have not kept us safe. They have allowed this to happen. The NHS and local Councils follow their rules. The Tories run the Civil Service. They were in power 4 years ago when JKR spoke up. They've done nothing about the bullying, harassment and women since then or before.

Everything that has happened is on the Tories' watch. Stop going on about Labour - Labour haven't been in power for 14 years!

BezMills · 30/05/2024 08:19

Labour are likely to be the next government, in just 5 weeks time. I think it's a fine topic for discussion

Nappyvalley15 · 30/05/2024 08:20

None of this could have happened under the previous Labour government because the equality act they designed came into being after they left office.

Yes I think this too - especially as KJK would have pushed him hard on this and exposed it all.

Miriam Cates was measured, calm and made a string of unremarkable points about women's safeguarding and he reacted like she was completely toxic. She also called the man in the dress 'he' which no doubt wound the little scrote up further. 😂

SofaThrow · 30/05/2024 08:22

BezMills · 30/05/2024 07:39

I don't think this is true sadly. Lift a rock on this and there will be rabid TRAs scurrying for cover (until they get elected that is).
