Does anyone know of any feminist groups challenging organisations who data collect data on 'gender' or 'sex' when it is defined as something other than natal sex?

GDPR emphasise data minimisation and only collecting necessary personal data for a specific purpose.

I wonder if, in light of the GRA, it would be easier to make the case for removal of the right to record anything than tackle who gets recorded as what. If the recording of sex includes both sexes, what is the value of recording it?

Perhaps we should be aiming for sex only to be recorded in exceptional circumstances, and where this is the case, for this to be natal sex?

Brilliant. I was hoping this would be the case.

It came up when posting on a different thread.

I think I am going to start leaving both sex and gender fields blank. If they are compulsory fields, I will ask why it's needed and the definitions they use.

Oh. I've just realised that the bill this pertains will probably never see the light of day.

However, it's good that the days of Press for Change's 'quiet lobbying' are over and that GCs have our eyes open to the threats and opportunities ahead.
