I can't believe my eyes. Season 9 apparently. Bloody breast tissue in the bag. Sickening.

I used to think dystopia tales like the hunger games was purely fiction.

I don't think that any more. Right here on our TV screens in 2024, we can watch a parade of stupidity stunted or mutilated minds and bodies compete for a worthless prize whilst the audience is forced to applaud at "gunpoint" lest they be accused of heresy or insurrection.

That fucking asteroid cannot hit us fast enough.

ILoveblossom · 27/05/2024 13:35

Her twitter feed also includes a photoshoot in a hospital setting. I've decided that's enough internet for me just now. Time for a walk.

One for the time capsule, when it gets dug up in 100 years and people look back at the crazy 21st century and the nutty beliefs and practices.

mrshoho · 27/05/2024 13:37

Glorifying horrific mutilation of female breasts is vile and deeply disturbing. I saw the clip on X but didn't realise it's going to be shown on mainstream TV? I hope this helps people to realise drag has no place around our children.

MaySheWillStayRestingInMyArmsAgain · 27/05/2024 13:42

Please would someone kindly explain why there are four arms (and the same pale green corset/skirt) in the first and last pictures?

fatphalange · 27/05/2024 13:42

Terrible. I'm sorry for any woman who has been understandably upset by this Flowers

quantumbutterfly · 27/05/2024 13:47

I can't imagine an alternative universe where I would watch 'drag race'.

The more I see it the more I call it womanface .

Agree with pp about celebrating mental illness, how have such lunatics become mainstream?
Was Idiocracy a documentary?

mrshoho · 27/05/2024 13:50

This person walks down the runway wearing this 'costume' . The 2 fake arms move to simulate the cutting as the person walks. It's the most disgusting sight.m @MaySheWillStayRestingInMyArmsAgain

A woman, who identifies as a man, performing drag- whereby she wants to be seen as a man pretending to be a woman.

Humankind has gone from locking up anyone who had the slightest mental health problem and housing them in inhumane asylums with no hope of a cure or being released to pandering and encouraging those suffering with extreme mental illness to have their bodies butchered and go publicly celebrate their flouting the laws of nature.

Jon Uhler has posited for a while that the exponential rise in transing correlates with Ru Paul starting on tv start at about 49 minutes in. And it just keeps moving up with DSM changes after that.

That photo is really sickening. I feel very upset on behalf of all women who have had to undergo mastectomies as life-saving treatment from breast cancer.

This isn’t entertainment - it’s the glorification of very disturbing and disturbed behaviour towards the female body.

PTSDBarbiegirl · 27/05/2024 14:57

The pinnacle of desperate man pleasing female misogyny. On display, look at me men....

Tallisker · 27/05/2024 15:03

Fuck. I've just had a mastectomy due to cancer and this has made me sick to my stomach and wanting to cry for my horrible but necessary mutilation. Fuck fuck fuck. I can't do this any more.

DameMaud · 27/05/2024 15:05

Have there been any public criticisms of this outside of X/Twitter yet, does anyone know?

I can't believe this is the world we live in.

@CocoapuffPuff has articulated a perfect response to this.

TheSandgroper · 27/05/2024 15:05

I agree with @FrancescaContini Disturbing and disturbed.

Fucking hell

LakeTiticaca · 27/05/2024 15:11

That is just messed up. No wonder youngsters are so confused.
Did she have her tits removed and 2 extra arms added? 😳

AGlinnerOfHope · 27/05/2024 15:14

How do the male drag queens feel about her, I wonder? Presumably she has some advantages over them in presentation.

AlisonDonut · 27/05/2024 15:18

I'm off to touch grass.

EightMonthsScared · 27/05/2024 15:19

Vile, just vile. What am I supposed to learn from it?

Brewdug · 27/05/2024 15:21

This is absolutely horrendous, and I say that as a one-time Drag Race viewer.

Time was RuPaul was considered a transphobe for not allowed trans women on the show at all. I can think of at least one example where producers have stepped in and stopped contestants wearing certain outfits (a dress shaped like a sanitary pad with wings). Now this is okay? Trans joy uber allies? This is truly offensive and the hospital photoshoot is sickening.

The reaction on X is just as upsetting as it is the heart of the issue in microcosm - anyone objecting to this is either a 'terf' or a right winger - bigots to be ignored or ridiculed, who won't let people be their 'true selves'. Young supporters of this are being brainwashed into believing there's only one way to think on this issue, and people who disagree should be run out of town. This is not the way forward. I'm gobsmacked at this.

Pp I believe this season is on Paramount+ and would not be shown on the BBC.

Ofcourseshecan · 27/05/2024 15:24

TrulyFubar · 27/05/2024 12:39

GottMik is a Trans Man. Had you watched the episode and listened to his explanation, the look was regarding his own top surgery.

Is that somehow supposed to be OK?

AllProperTeaIsTheft · 27/05/2024 15:24

Unbelievable. Just horrific.
