On one of the Andrew Miller/Amy George threads, there were posts about this case.

Andrew Phillips got a suspended sentence then, despite having 25 previous convictions including the sexual assault of a woman and a case of exposure when he chased a woman in Cardiff city centre and exposed his genitals.

Well, guess what - he's been jailed. He kicked off at the Golden Cross, a "LGBTQ+ friendly" pub in the city.

Damage to property is more important than sexual offences against women and girls, evidently.

That surprises you?
It stopped surprising me long ago, sadly. We simply don't matter it seems.

The article says "The father attempted to shield his daughter's view but she asked: "Why did that man open his legs?""

Tbh I'm surprised the TRAs weren't attacking the child for misgendering the flasher.

So 4 days for the criminal damage, and some weeks for breaking the terms of his suspension after the original offence.

The bowel injury… I read that as being accidentally self inflicted. Anyone else? He’s clearly both damaged and dangerous.

Fucking awful. Suspended bloody sentence!

Very ill and dangerous man. How long before he really hurts someone? And when I say someone I mean woman or girl.

Damage to property is more important than sexual offences against women and girls, evidently.

Our whole system of law is based on the primacy of protection of property over protections to the person.

Look how long it took for wives to no longer be considered chattels in law. How long it took us to extend the period of compulsory education to children and stop them being pushed into the workforce before 16. How disgracefully long it took to fully abolish slavery (and it’s arguable whether we’ve really managed to stop it to date).

You can kill someone with your car, even drunk or on drugs, and I’d argue that you’ll probably be more ‘inconvenienced’ by the amount it then costs you to get insurance etc (after you’ve served your ban) than any sort of jail term you’re likely to get as a result of the death.

The suspended sentence was 22 weeks, but:
Judge Nicola Saffman sentenced Phillips to four days imprisonment for the criminal damage offence, and 11 weeks for the breach of the suspended sentence.

It seems the Trans Teflon is still nice & shiny in Wales 🙁

Well they don't call him she or refer to her penis in the article, which is good.

IndependentUndefeated · 17/05/2024 11:53

A man with a mental health condition you say?

NitroNine · 17/05/2024 13:22

@theDudesmummy yes, there is that, at least 😊

Oh, that'll only be because he didn't tell the court that he wanted to be referred to as she/her.
