I have done as requested, unfollowed and cancelled my regular donation. I’m so sick of this shit. Women’s reproductive rights are being attacked from all sides in the US and they’re prioritising this?!

OK, Center for Reproductive Rights. But only people of one SEX need access to abortion care.

It doesn't even make sense.

If you consider how many genders some claim exist, how can you know whether or not abortion might be a personal issue for that person? I'm not sure I've expressed it clearly but that's increasingly difficult in their upside down world. If I claim to be agender, which I could do since it's the closest thing to 'gender is bollox' as far as I can work out, then who can tell whether I might require access to abortion? If an actual physical man claims his gender is indeed male, how can he need access to abortion ever?

But it's nonsense because your gender (if you have one) is irrelevant in this case. Only the female sex need abortions.

People of all hair colours also need access to abortion. We don't talk about it because your hair colour isn't related to the need for abortion. Similarly, whatever you identify as doesn't correlate to the need for access to abortion. All that matters is the biological reality of your sex.

Female sexed people of any gender need access to abortion care. If someone is in thrall to trans ideology and believes they aren't a "woman" yet retain female sex organs then clearly they are delusional but sorting out that delusion is not the priority or responsibility of providers of abortion care. Therefore such provisions should be made available to people of any gender, yes.
But yes only one sex needs abortion. Male people may need access to counselling services if they are having trouble reconciling themselves to the end of their partner's pregnancy I guess?

Anyone else having flashbacks to ACLU and their conversion of Ruth Bader Ginsburg's famous quotation to be gender neutral? They issued a non-apology and claimed that in conversations with her, they're sure that it represents a spirit she would have supported.

“The decision whether or not to bear a child is central to a [person’s] life, to [their] well-being and dignity,” it wrote. “When the government controls that decision for [people], [they are] being treated as less than a fully adult human responsible for [their] own choices.”

I wonder how long it'll be before you get a begging phone call asking you why you cancelled your direct debit. I've had two or three from one charity since I cancelled my regular donation over its social media denunciations of women.

My DC at 6 were better behaved. Talk about a tantrum.

It's technically true but far too general.

The missing word is FEMALE.

FEMALE people of all genders need access to abortion care.
MALE people of any gender do not need access to abortion care.

You see, it's that simple to recognise both sex and gender.

What the simple thinkers who made that x post don't seem to get is that recognising sex does not undefine gender identities unless those identities are predicated on requiring everyone to deny their own sex to accomodate a few people's feelings of gender. And making that sort of demand of others, that they deny their own self knowledge, their own experiences, their own stories and history, does not make the people who demand it the good guys. Not at all.

Eventually this stupid movement to pretend we don't need to consider people's sex will collapse / eat itself because female people do exist, will continue to exist, will continue to notice they have needs, experiences and challenges that male people do not, and so whatever stupid things are done to our language we will continue to find ways to talk about our shared reality.

Do they think they're telling gender critical women something we don't know and concur with? They're absolutely right, gender is irrelevant to whether someone needs abortion care. Only their sex matters. 'Identifying as a man' won't save some from needing abortion care. Neither will 'identifying as nonbinary'.

No 'TERF' would want to exclude female trans identifying people from abortion care. Male trans people are excluded - lucky them! - by simple inescapable biology.

If they want to exclude people they'd call TERFs from abortion care then they're obviously horribly non inclusive folx.

If it's "all people" who might need an abortion, these activists can't complain when the "people" who make the decisions to criminalise it, all have penises.
