JKR, are you here?

OP posts:
Vargas · 10/05/2024 23:35

Really hope she visits sometimes and sees how much support she has. Jo - you're amazing!!

cavernclub · 10/05/2024 23:35

LauderSyme · 10/05/2024 23:46

Hi JKR! You rock and your stories aren't bad either.

👏💪🌟🍾💝

WallaceinAnderland · 10/05/2024 23:51

If not a member (or banned) I hope, believe, expect, she is a lurker.

Boiledbeetle · 10/05/2024 23:52

RealFeminist · 10/05/2024 22:20

AH LOVE A WEE SEANCE AW THAT KNOCKIN

Are you JKR. Knock once for yes, twice for no and three times if you don't wish to say anything without your solicitor present!

SidewaysOtter · 10/05/2024 23:54

If you’re here, JKR, thank you for everything you do. Bloody loved Harry Potter and the Strike books are excellent too.

If she is, she'll have a username like "namechange12345678"

Or maybe, just like Robyn in the ink black heart, she borrows the login of a long-time poster who is a friend. And just lurks and Thanks

Datun · 11/05/2024 00:06

In the podcast about her, she said she used to go on message boards with Potter fans, and chat to them, incognito, so I bet she is here!

Karensalright · 11/05/2024 00:10

I think she is because she sees herself as a normal adult human female. Just like all of us woudy wabble. And if I were her I would love this place, as we are all in masks, we are equals.

She has a gift of writing and made a stupid amount of money out of it, and therefore can do and say what she likes. Nobody can cancel her

Life is like a shit sandwich, the more bread you got the less shit you eat.

I’ve wanted to write to her for a while but I guess she’s got no PO Box.

She was my hero growing up and yet she still is but for a completely different reason.

What she’s done is up there with Emily Davison.

Thank you Jo.

I went to the Filia conference last year and she made a surprise appearance. Can you IMAGINE the reception she got? Standing ovation! I actually cried. It was so great to see this brave, phenomenal woman in the flesh. And she was as funny, sweary and insightful as we'd all imagined she was. So brilliant.

OutOfTheHouse · 11/05/2024 00:24

I knew someone who was mates with one of the actors who played Doctor Who (original flavour). He used to go in the DW forums for a chat as a regular punter. (This was in the 90s)

AmadeustheAlpaca · 11/05/2024 00:42

There's a Mumsnetter who posts very regularly in these boards. She writes very well researched articulate posts and was also out of the country at the same time that JKR was out of the country. I'm not saying anymore.

Why don't we ask Aston ... surely, they would have sussed her!

#teamJKR

My goodness - what a thought and then Aston would be caught out because even if they did identify her they couldn't say so because it would prove FWRers were right to be concerned about what they have been doing.

But on the other hand, who else might Aston have uncovered ...

Just seen the notice of a new book about the history(?) of feminism with the byline from Pankhurst to mumsnet! Grin

I wasn't at the Filia conference but was in Glasgow that weekend. On the plane home there was a fantastic conversation between two younger (v early 20s) women and a veteran campaigner in seats behind me about JK and her fablissness. It warmed my cockles.

I am a big fan of JKR. See UN.

Love the Strike books. Robin Ellacott is drawn so well. Love Pat too. I know quite a lot of women like Pat.

JennyLake · 11/05/2024 06:05

Will try to avoid gushing but honestly I can’t think of anyone I have more admiration for. Her bravery in taking on the battle that others shied away from, to protect women and girls. I can’t imagine how difficult that has been.
JKR if you ARE reading…thank you.

jobessieandme · 11/05/2024 06:42

If you are here JKR, thank you for everything you do for girls and women! I and my daughter salute you!

DifficultBloodyWoman · 11/05/2024 06:53

I’d definitely invite her to my fantasy dinner party but reading an anonymous message on MumsNet is as close as we are likely to get in real life.

AccidentallyWesAnderson · 11/05/2024 07:28

I love her too.

But also here for the Chinese in Blackhall. Is it the Sky Garden?

I listened to that podcast recently and wondered exactly the same at that point!

DialSquare · 11/05/2024 07:37

As a PP said, even if she doesn't post, I'm pretty sure she lurks. So thanks for all you do, JKR. I always feel like I can't admire you more and you always prove me wrong!

Thepartnersdesk · 11/05/2024 09:51

The descriptions she includes in the Strike books of real places, hotels, cafes etc make me wonder if she does check into Premier Inns and have trips around Barrow or Melrose dressed as a normal person.

She clearly does her research when writing.
