In the news today. (Content warning, graphic, refs to CSA).

WPATH promote 'eunuch gender', including a whole chapter on 'eunuchs' in Standards of Care v8.

The NHS still link to Wpath SoC v 8.

I find it odd that eunuch surgery stemming from dysphoria related to genitals is considered a serious crime in this instance, but apparently supported by the NHS (who still link to Wpath) when related to 'gender'.

What's the difference?

I couldn't get your link to work, but have found WPATH guidance linked to from the Nottingham Centre for Transgender Health.

Other GP guidance

There are various places where medical professionals can find details about the treatment of trans and gender diverse individuals.

Pretty much all surgery which is legal if performed by a qualified surgeon in sterile conditions acting in accordance with the relevant guidelines (whether you agree with those guidelines or not) will be illegal if performed in a home kitchen by an amateur butcher for the purposes of financial reward and sexual gratification.

Especially if said amateur butcher then eats the leftover bits of flesh rather than disposing of them in a clinical waste bin.

Thanks, Melroses, I messed up that link.

Sure. So will the NHS gender clinics support eunuch affirming surgery if done according to WPATH guidelines? Should they?

Should the NHS be offering surgery to address body dysphoria?

I'm confused. Aren't these individuals stunning and brave, driven to desperate measures by horrible medical gatekeepers? I'm sure Stonewall and Mermaids must be campaigning on their behalf. After all, they only want to be their authentic selves.

the NHS surgeries are done. By plastic surgeons not urologists, so what the difference between that and an off duty nurse having a go with a kitchen kniefe?

Suspect this is the tip of a very murky iceberg that if investigated will evidence some very unsavoury connections currently attempting to influence public policy - including in relation to children.

Yes. And I reckon lots of the people up the food chain are scared to even lift any rocks.

Yes. I think we may find that some very well known organisations - many working with children - may have been influenced by adults involved with this "group".
I really hope I'm wrong....

Good point @nocoolnamesleft . Shouldn't Stonewall and Mermaids be clamouring for the release of this hero ? And if not why not....

The Telegraph have done some digging into this man's background. Of course, they've discovered that he was an advocate for more gay sex education in schools when in Norway and and ran a number of events for teachers.

This is a classic example of the lack of due diligence being exercised in relation to adults promoting sex education materials, training and advice for schools. Although this happened in Norway I am unaware of any levels of quality assurance or "suitability / safeguarding checks" in this country for the numerous individuals and organisations selling SRE materials and advice to schools. The repeated exposure in the media of age inappropriate materials pushed at schools for children suggests that we'd find some individuals with similar backgrounds if checks were made :
