Stonewall are starting us with the absurd fact that Joan of Arc lived and died over three thousands years ago

1479 - 1458 BCE: Joan of Arc was willing to die at the stake rather than stop wearing men’s clothing.

Think Butler's entire career is founded on exactly this. An entire cadre of academics, wading through acres of impenetrable bollocks give up wondering what that nonsense was about and take the easy option of thinking its way over my head so it must be brilliant (much like your average maths student confronted with quantum physics)
