It is that time of year again, time to make stuff up and call it trans history!

Stonewall are starting us with the absurd fact that Joan of Arc lived and died over three thousands years ago

1479 - 1458 BCE: Joan of Arc was willing to die at the stake rather than stop wearing men’s clothing.

Feel free to pass it on or make up whatever rubbish you like!

Why do we need Trans+ History Week?

What is Trans+ History Week?  Founded by QueerAF, Trans+ History Week (6 – 12 May 2024) is a week to learn and celebrate the rich and long history of trans, non-binary, gender diverse, and intersex people. It is a time to...

Who funds this bollocks “research” and who is (voluntarily) reading it??

No one reads it.

This is the Emperor’s New Clothes.

There’s a load of illogical densely-worded bullshit that tires brains and people tasked with reading it clearly give up half way and wave it through.

Think Butler's entire career is founded on exactly this. An entire cadre of academics, wading through acres of impenetrable bollocks give up wondering what that nonsense was about and take the easy option of thinking its way over my head so it must be brilliant (much like your average maths student confronted with quantum physics)

BCE/CE are pretty standard academic usage now I thought - but that does kinda require not mixing them up and getting the actual dates right.

Ignorant idiots - such gross disrespect of womens history, they can't even bother to apply a bit of basic knowledge or proofreading while stealing it.Angry

Academic usage. No…of all the things you could call Stonewall, I don’t think it would be fair to call them ‘academic’.

Robert the Bruce: actually called Fiona

She is routinely misrepresented (and misnamed) as a Scottish man; but her roots are actually 100% Australian, where she always identified throughout her entire life as Roberta the Sheila.

I wish I were not quoting something that someone has claimed but…

…gay and trans! Turing was one of the first Gay men to go on estrogen

That's quite the take on DES punitive castration therapy as an alternative to imprisonment for the then crime of homosexuality. Discussed here with a good synopsis of Turing's remarkable life and achievements.

I wonder what they might make of Princess Anne in her 'male' attire (including that very fetching plumed bicorn hat) leading the military contingent at Charles' coronation.

I see Princess Anne is riding Prince Philip, who was identifying as a horse that day.
