I haven't seen anything about gender at all in the North East Mayoral election. If India Willoughby thinks Jamie Driscoll is a good candidate that presumably means he thinks trans women are women. Anyone know?

I think it’s just that IW is voting against Labour. Jamie Driscoll hasn’t said anything controversial as far as I know, he’s just the opposing candidate.

Spot on. India and India's cervix are very annoyed with Labour. I won't go into details since the many annoyances that India experiences are myriad, ever-changing and nonsensical.

Does anyone have any concrete info on Driscoll's stance on trans issues? I'm in the area for this mayoral election and he is the candidate I want to vote for; but I don't feel confident about voting for him without some assurance on this issue, so am considering just spoiling my ballot paper.
(We also have a police commissioner election and I emailed my prefered candidate but got no response to ask her view on collecting crime data by sex but got not response. Hate the thought of not being able to vote.

I’ve never seen him (or the previous combined authority organisation) express any views either way on this issue. I have contact with a number of their staff professionally and have never noticed any pronouns in emails, trans day of visibility LinkedIn posts etc. Absolutely nothing in any of the election literature or hustings.
