The amount of people who have realised "the left leaning" news outlets, like the I, The Guardian and The Independent are not unbiased sources. The amount of posters who suddenly realised they were fed a narrative just as much as the right leaning news does has been good to see.
I was guilty of it myself.

Yes I agree. Although that brings me to 'trust no one' and a hell of a lot of fact checking.

RandySavage · 19/04/2024 11:08

I always knew they were biased, I didn’t mind that.

I mind that they used to be quite good and now they are shit.

theduchessofspork · 19/04/2024 11:09

I don’t think people didn’t realise that before / or that those who don’t realise it still don’t?

Any source has a bias.

Betweenthe2 · 19/04/2024 11:10

I think everyone and everything is biased in some way. It's human nature unfortunately. It's good to be aware of our own and others biases but we can't avoid it.

I always knew never to rely on one news source. But then I became lazy and just read the Guardian. Will never make that mistake again.

And Daily Mail has some excellent reporting at times esp on the trans issue.

HornyHornersPinkyWinky · 19/04/2024 11:29

Same OP, I would have always read the Guardian up until a few years ago, and realised how the treated Hadley Freeman and other journalists.

I think in part it's because the left has always positioned itself as 'the good guys', so maybe they tell themselves their lying is for the greater good or some other shite...

Blackcats7 · 19/04/2024 11:44

I think the guardian has gone downhill under katherine viner.
About all I look at now is the lifestyle section for a laugh to see how many blue haired twentysomethings they can cram in having sex (preferably with a “kink”) or eating the latest bizarre foodstuff at a ridiculously expensive resturant.
Used to be my main news source but not anymore. As you say the trans capture has shown their enormous bias so I don’t trust them to tell me anything now.

Toseland · 19/04/2024 12:00

All news sources are biased. In the good old days you were able to read the same story from multiple news viewpoints and make-up your own mind - today that option has been removed - some large news sources (BBC) won't even cover stories that go against their hidden agenda and ethos.
