Apologies if I’m repeating what someone has already posted but I’m relishing Ash Regan's retweet of JKR….

I love that it's Birdy Roses artwork too, she's great.
So many strong women.

This is just so embarrassing. Humza is going to grovel to the greens!!!

Telegraph:

Yousaf will go back to Greens to ‘try to change their minds’, says SNP’s Westminster leaderHumza Yousaf will attempt to persuade the Scottish Greens to change their minds over a no confidence vote in a desperate attempt to cling on as First Minister.
Stephen Flynn, the SNP’s Westminster leader, said this morning that he expected Mr Yousaf to approach the party he abruptly dumped from government just 24 hours earlier when he tore up their coalition deal.

Wasn't it yesterday he was calling it strong leadership.
This is a live comedy sketch right now.
He's done and I hope the SNP are done too. Time for a fresh approach.

WickedSerious · 26/04/2024 13:08

Someone stick a fork in these fuckers.

So embarrassing is an understatement. Could the SNP/Humza sink any lower? He will have not one shred of credibility left if he does this.

I know this is a serious issue with big repercussions, but bloody hell I'm enjoying it!

Yes,I've had a shit week but this has cheered me up no end.

Solgrass · 26/04/2024 13:42

Greens don’t want Humza’s sweet talk.

Telegraph:

Scottish Greens ‘unequivocal’ that they will vote against YousafThe Scottish Greens remain “unequivocal” that they will vote against Humza Yousaf in a confidence motion next week, The Telegraph understands.

Could the SNP/Humza sink any lower?

Only if the floor of Holyrood suddenly turned into quicksand! Although Humza currently probably feels like he's trying to walk on quicksand anyway!

Love it! Although I've now got 'the roof, the roof is on fire, we don't need no water, let the mother fucker burn! Burn mother fucker, burn' in my head....

Solgrass · 26/04/2024 13:47

What is going on in his mind?!?!?!

BBC news:

Humza Yousaf says he believes he will win next week's vote of no confidence.
At an event in Dundee, he said: "I believe I can win that vote.

Solgrass · 26/04/2024 13:48

BBC news:

Yousaf says he will not resign as first minister of Scotland.

Floisme · 26/04/2024 13:54

I'm sorry Scottish women, I really, really am, but I can't stop laughing.

They’re giving them a veiled warning - they won’t vote them down, providing Ash’s conditions are met…

Do you think? I'm worried they're worried they'll lose the one seat in any election plus if you're relying on independence voters then bringing down an independence government isn't a great look

TinselAngel · 26/04/2024 14:08

I worry the universe will punish me for the exquisite schadenfreude that I am currently enjoying.

Madcats · 26/04/2024 14:13

How is this going to work, then?

I can't see the Rainbow Greens being happy with any power-sharing that doesn't reject the Cass report in full.

I can see that Harvie and Slater might fancy ministerial power and ££, but I can't see them saying "oh we've read the Cass report now and it seems to have merit". Presumably Ash Regan can still have a vote of NC against Harvie?

Now even the Guardian is doing lengthy pieces about Cass, surely the SNP can't say "we've changed our minds; let's sterilise the kids!".

Interesting times for Scotland.

EasternStandard · 26/04/2024 14:16

Listening to Times radio on Ash Regan’s letter of demands and what brought all this about

So many jibes on here about ‘no one caring’

Ha! Gender ideology can take out politicians

Love it

edit - it’s LBC

I haven't been this entertained since Nicola Sturgeon invented a new gender ("rapist" gender) for Isla Bryson immediately after passing the gender recognition bill.

I still marvel at the fact that none of these politicians could see how their obsession with gender ideology was going to come back and bite them on the bum. It's not as if we didn't warn them.

Cosmosforbreakfast · 26/04/2024 14:41

Could you really vote for confidence in someone so pathetic they're grovelling to the Greens now? It says a lot about anyone that would vote in his favour. I wish Ash had specified women to mean actual women, Humza believes men can be women so he could readily agree and then announce 'but I'm protecting transwomen, they're women' and it's all the same BS as before. I would love for this to just topple the SNP altogether, we need them and their culty Independence and Trans Ideaology gone.

That was an entertaining few weeks in Scottish Politics. This definitely has the same feel to it.

Villagetoraiseachild · 26/04/2024 12:10

Good to know. Unlike the recent string of party elected Tory PMs.

Tories would simply vote for their party leader and as they have a majority they would win. That is all that happens in Holyrood.

But according to most of the media, this has all happened because of the SNP reneging on climate change targets. Only some right-leaning press, e.g. the Spectator, have pointed out it's actually primarily about women's rights.
