Miriam Cates was due to speak at the NatCon conference in Brussels tomorrow, on the topic of "Save The Children!"
The conference has been shut down because the Mayor will not tolerate the far right.

I'm putting this here because I know a lot of GC feminists support Cates - I don't, and this stuff is why. She is awful.

I'm more prolific now because I'm fed up of complete misrepresentations of various politicians being posted everywhere and when I asked MNHQ they said challenge it on the threads. So I do.

This board did not used to be political. Now it is. It is a noticeable difference. And not only is it political, its a politics with "wrongthink" and "no debate" running through it. Tactics I absolutely abhor.

You bang on about the 'we' situation. Created in part due to 'us' being hived off at your request. Don't request we all sit in another room and then whine about us having common in jokes that you don't get.

I get that logic isn't your forte, but don't sit there and say you don't slag off posters when you slagged off one ex poster thread after thread so much so the latest one had to be deleted.

It's not deleted, it's "taken down while MNHQ have a look behind the scenes". I'm still here. And I haven't chased them to get it reinstated because obviously lots of people reported it so fine, let's not discuss it.

KJK is a public figure who is standing up a political party. Therefore discussing what she stands for, her motivations and political viewpoints are to be expected. She is not a random "previous poster" and it is a bit odd to suggest she is.

Some of us are capable of agreeing about some things and disagreeing about others. Discussing a politicians views and associations is not a "character assassination".

I don't want her or a party that represents those sort of views in charge of the country I live in. I think the philosophy is regressive and dangerous for women and children.

How is a thread derailing?

You don’t seem to understand how political parties work. They are coercive, via the Whips, who whip everyone into line with the party. It takes a very brave MP to openly criticise the party - the only remaining reason I really admire Corbyn, despite his naivety.

Still isn't supportive of left or right, there are a wide variety of views which is one reason I like it. It gives me hope decent, rational ppeople can co operate across political lines.
But you don't discuss views you just go Bad views of bad person with bad friends. Bad meaning things I don't like.
What intrigues me is why among all the possibilities out there it's Miriam Cates you hate so much. This isn't the only thread you've obsessed about her.

I've seen threads slagging off all manner of Labour politicians, speculating about their personal circumstances and why they aren't "objective", saying they can't be trusted, ideological capture etc. Yet those ones don't attract the same amount of passionate defence of the politicians.

Miriam Cates, KJK and Kemi Badenoch all get a disproportionate amount of love on here, relative to what they actually do, say and represent. That is why I start threads on them.

Ah I see we're guilty of sharing some views with bad people. And you must start a thread to put us right because we're bad people for agreeing with bad people and you have a compulsive need to save our souls.

What exactly is your issue? If you don't like the thread, dont post on it. If you want to engage, do. Sniping from the sidelines just makes you look defensive for some reason.
