This is a case where a powerful man not only raped someone, he then used the MO of abusive males everywhere and used the court system to try to shut her up.

In a world where "innocent until proven guilty" and "reasonable belief in consent" is allowing rapists to act with impunity, I think more women will speak out about their experiences and they deserve protection.

She's been very brave to do this. Total shero

Former Australian government adviser raped colleague in parliament, judge finds

Political staffer Bruce Lehrmann has always denied having sex with Brittany Higgins in 2019 - and filed a defamation claim against Australian media company Network Ten over an interview with his accuser in 2021.

Cheers for Lisa Wilkinson for doing the interview and standing up for women.
I am immensely happy about this verdict. I particularly like the bit about Lehrmann escaped the lion’s den but decided to go back in for his hat.
His rage at being outed shows how committed he was to continuing raping women and relying on societal shame and the law to protect him.
I am sure he’s done it before, but now he won’t get to do it again.
