A good time for a thread to note all the companies, charities and celebrities that jumped onto the Trans bandwagon without any care for the children being harmed [title edited]

So we (and they) don't forget and to assist any journalists who are working on stories. I'll get the ball rolling:

Now the CASS report is out it may be time to revisit the part the Dentons' advice played in all of this - does anyone have a copy? | Mumsnet

The Corporation of London with a special mention for Edward Lord, who seems to have been the driving force forcing the Hampstead Ladies' Pond to be open to all who identify as ladies. This of course means that male swimmers now have the choice of three ponds: men's, mixed or ladies'. Women who can't use a mixed sex space have none.

Plus a special mention for the Bishopsgate Institute which is festooned with every possible flag representing every possible identity of queer theory. One of their trustees is Nancy Kelly.

Edinburgh Rape Crisis Centre trustees, who advertised for a new CEO and appropriately used the exemptions in the Equalities Act to say only female applicants would be eligible. They then appointed a male applicant who doesn't even have a GRC and who said this on the Guilty Feminist podcast:

So we might have fear of men of a certain ethnicity, we might have fear of trans people, and it could be linked to an experience of trauma. I think it is, it is okay to hold those things as long as you are willing to acknowledge that, in support, we will accept that ... the other thing is that sexual violence happens to bigoted people as well. And so, you know, it is not discerning crime. But these spaces are also for you. But if you bring unacceptable beliefs that are discriminatory in nature, we will begin to work with you on your journey of recovery from trauma. But please also expect to be challenged on your prejudices.

The Church of England .
’Trans is a sacred journey’ signed by the previous Archbishop and several acting senior clergy. Appointing Trans Clergy against the wishes of the parishioners ( this is counter to usual practice, for example parishes can still request a male vicar, that’s fine).
In a sermon at Trinity College, a chaplain claimed that Jesus was trans, because of the wound in his side which was supposed to be ‘like a vagina’. 🤮

I believe you can be re-baptised with your ‘new name’ .

Some of the Reformed Church have a similar point of view. And have been very vocal.

I feel very bitter about this slide into heresy and the malicious perversion of doctrine ( and common sense).

I'm trying to remember which organisation it was that appointed a man as their expert/champion of periods a few years back.

The Last Leg, particularly Adam Hills, so self righteous.

I can’t watch that smugfest. I found Adam’s smugness unbearable even when I agreed with him on topics like Brexit and Trump. He thinks he’s a social justice warrior but he has disappeared up his own posterior.

Scottish government? Maybe

This is one very, very long list 🙁

Girl guides

This was the one that got me - I was a brownie leader and district commissioner for 5 years and the whole point was creating a safe space for girls to try stuff they would be self conscious of doing in front of boisterous boys - from abseiling, kayaking, archery etc.

‘Girls Can’ was the point. Now they don’t seem to remember what a girl actually is.

I wrote to my MP, Bell Ribeiro-Addy, in 2021 asking if she would support a pause on the "conversion therapy" bill given the findings of the interim Cass report, to allow Cass to report fully. I was surprised by her reply, as it is an unusual tactic for MPs to suggest constituents (and party members) support torture, and queried it at the time. She never replied so I have now written again asking if she would like to retract.

In her reply, she said "I join calls to eradicate conversion therapy as a form of homophobic, biphobic, transphobic and acephobic abuse, and I support a legislative ban to make conversion therapy illegal. LGBTQ+ people deserve to live and love in peace. This is the most basic of human rights and I stand in
full solidarity with those campaigning for an end to this torture. I am pleased to have signed the EDM #565 - LGBTQ+ conversion therapy in the UK. There is no justification for this torture to continue and I am pleased to see the Government has opened a consultation on banning conversion therapy. I hope that legislation to end the practice will quickly follow this consultation and I look forward to supporting it through Parliament."

Wow, I think she just purity spiralled through the roof!

How utterly creepy. I’m no fan of the Catholic Church (lapsed Catholic and generally anti-religion) but it talks sense on gender.

Sorry, @Ofcourseshecan , my post was misleading - that quote was from 2021 after the interim Cass report (although that should have been enough to go on IMO to row back from at least some of that). I have written asking if she would like to retract now and not heard back yet.

Apologies if I'm repeating, I have RTFT but it's such a long list I've forgotten what was at the beginning.

Santander bank.

Their ATMs used to be emblazoned with The Rainbow all through the year, but they've recently got new machines & The Rainbow is not to be seen anywhere.

I haven't forgotten though.

Janina Ramirez. Tragic, as she was my not so secret crush and I thought she had her head screwed on, but, alas, no.......sobs.

Samaritans.

one of they many reasons I left was being told during training that if a woman phoned and wanted to only speak to a woman, she was to be told you are speaking to a Samaritan you can’t pick who. I was supposed to actively find a man for them to talk to.

didn’t apply if a man requested a man.

you also must pronoun and request them when speaking to anyone.

I think this might be the worst one on this thread. A woman in crisis wants to speak to another woman and the policy isn't just that it can't be guaranteed and she gets whichever volunteer is free, but to actively ensure she doesn't get the kind of support she needs.

As someone who once called them when I was in a very dark place (many years ago, long before all the pronoun nonsense) I find this really upsetting. Well done for standing by your principles and leaving.
