TRANSGENDER REPRESENTATION IN CHILDREN'S LITERATURE
As part of the Primary Education with QTS course, I teach a third-year English module in which students think carefully about how transgender children are represented in children’s literature. In order to prepare for this element of the course, I have collected children’s books that positively depict transgender children or use animals and even crayons as a metaphor for the transgender child as the protagonist.
