“There have been so many times that I have had to justify myself to just be,” K.S. previously told CTV News Toronto. “People who aren’t trans or nonbinary don’t have to get that permission to exist.”
See this is the the part that I dont think that they get. That they resort to hyperbole that others think is convincing but it is ludicrous. This person is declaring that they are just 'being'. Yet, they aren't really because if they were just being themselves they wouldn't be surgically altering themselves. They are the ones who cannot accept themselves as who they already are.
This double speak is really harmful. Not only does it lack coherence but what it communicates to other people with trans identities is harmful because it is really a circular falsity. That they need to obtain these horrendous (in terms of the prospect of success and liveability) surgeries to 'live their authentic selves' is appalling.
