I saw this on a facebook thread and was taken aback.

Not one?

As far as I can make out the Welsh Government runs the national helplines for not only DV but also RC. see https://www.gov.wales/live-fear-free

Was there never an independent Women's Aid or Rape Crisis service in Wales? Or did they just get assimilated into the main stream and its transinclusive ethos?

Although come to think of it Rape Crisis is actually Rape Crisis England and Wales.

Live Fear Free helpline | GOV.WALES

Providing help and advice about violence against women, domestic abuse and sexual violence.

Rape crisis England and Wales went the same way as rape crisis Scotland.
Welsh Labour has taken the snp template for institutional misogyny and gender ideological capture and have been busy applying it to wales.

Can't say I'm surprised. Sad but not surprised.

Rape crisis England and Wales went the same way as rape crisis Scotland.

This is totally untrue and is grossly unhelpful for women seaking support.

Or are you just confused between Survivors Network which is not part of Rape Crisis England and Wales.

It is very easy to search their web sit and find which services are women only as is the National Helpline.

Please think about the women needing help before saying something like that.

That is why I made my OP a question

@Hoardasurass

Maybe you could ask MNHQ to delete your post as it isn't true.

I still have my Spare Rib diaries from the 1980s. There was a big resources section at the back of each year's and this was the double page spread from the 1984 edition showing the number of women's rape crisis centres in operation 40 years ago (and the list may not have been complete). Thought it might be of interest.

That's really interesting.

And I suspect that many of these groups were entirely voluntary, which is fact some of the remaining Rape Crisis Helplines are.
