Is it the case that those supporting gender ideology have developed a new tactic? Coming on here pretending to be a scientist stating their profession, and then proffering their expert knowledge via a link to wiki?

Surely if they were telling the truth they would link us to a peer review paper from a scientific website.

Is it a new trend or have I just cottoned on to it. In an attempt to influence new comers.

Replies and discussion gratefully appreciated, as long as you don't point out that i can be a bit thick..

@FlemishHorse
It’s an inconvenient truth for you that mixed sex toilets are dangerous (This has been proven by statistics over and over again). More mixed sex toilets are becoming the norm in public places because of gender ideology. You should appreciate that as a teacher. You place men who want to use the women’s toilets above everyone else.

I hope this thread demonstrates to others and so therefore it doesn’t get deleted.

It might be better for you to start a thread specifically on the mixed sex toilets issue, I’d be happy to contribute. Surely it would make more sense than continuing on this thread, and then it would be clear to everyone what the thread was discussing. Best wishes.

@Tinysoxxx @Karensalright

As I said in my original post, I am an XX/ female/woman and have never considered myself anything else, despite my irrational lifelong hatred of the colour pink, talon fingernails and the current fashion for the trout pout. And have identified as a feminist since before (I suspect) many posters on here were born, possibly before their mothers were born. Not that it makes my opinions any more valid than anyone else’s.

And, for the record, I oppose

  • any form of hormone therapy for gender manipulation of pre-pubertal and adolescent children
  • allowing anyone who has had the physical advantage in body development of male puberty to compete against women who have not
  • mixed sex hospital wards and prisons

Why mixed sex hospital wards and prisons, but not toilets?

Tinysoxxx · 11/04/2024 01:40

@FlemishHorse No I contribute on lots of threads about this issue of toilets because no one who is like you (who believes men should be in the women’s toilets) has the answer - it’s where all the gender ideology gets stuck. You don’t have the answer either, I see, so you are trying to deflect. This thread is about biology after all. Seizures, strokes, heart attacks, hypos = all biologically explainable reasons why we should have single sex toilets that are not fully enclosed.
You haven’t answered about toilets at all, other than say ‘feral’ schools should have a different system (?).

Helleofabore · 11/04/2024 02:16

Did we establish whether Semenya was one of those who should or shouldn’t be allowed to compete in female sports according to FlemishHorse? Was that clarified?

Igneococcus · 11/04/2024 06:33

Biology is often very complicated but it makes pretty much always sense within the framework of evolution by natural selection, and the suggestion that there are more than two sexes which are clearly defined by their distinct gametes doesn't fit into this framework.

SinnerBoy Do I need to post my qualifications and job title ?

I don't know if it would get our equine contributor to be less condescending to you...

DeanElderberry · 11/04/2024 07:38

wtaf is a 'feral school'?

a feral cat decided he was interested in my home life and took to jumping up on the windowsill and gazing into the house. Eventually after another bigger feral cat bit him I had to take him to vet for treatment, after which he unequivocally owned me as wasn't feral any more.

I can't imagine a school doing any of that. Is it a reference to the character of the people who staff the school? Are they biter or bitee? Would a vet (he did neutering and worming as well as wound dressing) help?

Helleofabore · 11/04/2024 08:06

Dean, maybe it is a school where they teach children how to live in caves? And those children don’t need toilets at all, they dig holes and use leaves to wipe their bums?

I will assume it was a derogatory remark by that poster that they will never explain because they expect this thread to be deleted. I think that we have already discovered there seems to be some incoherence in the opinions expressed. But I too wonder at a teacher using the term.

BezMills · 11/04/2024 08:16

The idea is that mixed toilets are not a problem if people are Naice like in Naice Schools in Naice Areas. It's only when people aren't Naice, that this presents a problem, and it's kind of their fault for not being Naice, living in a Naice Area and sending their kids to a Naice School.

DeanElderberry · 11/04/2024 08:18

A very offensive term, but did reassure me that the poster probably isn't the freemartins-and-male-nipples person I knew years ago.

Though it is a bit alarming that f-a-m-n is a more widely used 'debating' ploy than I would have hoped.

Igneococcus · 11/04/2024 08:19

I'm quite amused that someone thinks they can get an entire thread deleted because they don't like it. Are they new to the internet?

Helleofabore · 11/04/2024 08:21

Iggy if they are talking about feral schools, maybe they live out woop woop and they only get to use the internet on the rare visits to the big smoke.

(I say this from experience).

Igneococcus · 11/04/2024 08:24

@Helleofabore I live far far away from the big cities and I can use the internet, it's even quite speedy most of the times.

Mind you, I live in the big smoke and live in a mobile data black spot and that is it the UK.

HoneyButterPopcorn · 11/04/2024 08:39

My data black spots are my local Waitrose and outside DHs office.

Snowypeaks · 11/04/2024 08:44

Allison Bailey's statement is so powerful. That is the tone we should be hearing from our politicians. A terrible thing happened, is happening. Where is the outrage?

Snowypeaks · 11/04/2024 08:45

Sorry, wrong thread.

Igneococcus · 11/04/2024 08:47

I always have to restart my phone when I come to Edi or Glasgow because I loose 4G on approach, maybe it stresses coming into the big cities from rural Scotland.

PurpleSparkledPixie · 11/04/2024 08:50

So I'm not going to get my question answered despite tagging them three times with their own quote?

Surprise, Surprise 🙄

pickledandpuzzled · 11/04/2024 08:52

I don’t think it’s massively helpful to assume that an older female science teacher can’t possibly be in the be kind camp.

Clearly many intelligent older people have been there.

That doesn’t excuse the assumption other people are just stick in the mud old fogies who don’t understand science is complicated. That’s the offence here, I think, rather than anyone not being who they claim to be.

I concur and IMHO we should not be (effectively) troll-hunting who the poster claims they are. The content of their posts, as with everybody's, speak for themselves.

The broader point is to do with arguments from "authority" and how these should be taken with ladles of salt, even from posters on the "same" side. As the saying goes, on the internet nobody knows you're a dog.

By the way, that's not to say that anybody's posts shouldn't be challenged or questioned on their content, this is precisely how to unpick the aforementioned arguments from authority.

Please don’t request the thread is deleted !
It has a wealth of information that those of us (me) less educated can learn from.

You can archive the pages on the archive sites. Annoyingly, it only works on the 20post view of a page rather than the 100 but it's better than nothing. I've included an example here because I've not done it since the personalised site changes and I'm curious as to what shows up.

Otherwise, export the pages as pdfs.

@NotTerfNorCis
You mean eg the South African athlete, Caster Semenya I presume? A case of genuine intersex, I would say. My original post, that seems to have caused such vituperation, was merely pointing out that all the Y chromosome does is influence the level of “male” hormones that masculinise the basic embryo from about 8 weeks gestation (IIRC). I presume many posters on here would call her unequivocally a man, though.

Do you mean this Caster Semenya?
