FiLiA is hosting an event in response to Women's concerns around the implementation of the Hate Crime and Public Order (Scotland) Act 2021 and the policies which surround it.

The event will take place at 7pm on Saturday 13 April in Central Edinburgh.

Join Joanna Cherry, MP and KC, Lucy Hunter Blackburn, Murray Blackburn Mackenzie, and Susan Smith, For Women Scotland, to explore the impact of the legislation and application of associated policies on Women's speech and rights.

Tickets for this event are £10 or £25 and there is an option to make a
donation when you purchase. Please select the ticket you can
comfortably afford. If you need help to be able to attend, please email
us at [email protected].

The venue is fully accessible by arrangement. Please contact us at the above email if you have specific access requirements.

We will email you the venue details nearer the event time.

(Just a reminder for those who find it strange that some of us share things we come across, I am not in any way affiliated to this, but thought others might be interested.)

It seems quite short notice, but it may have been advertised earlier but it has only just come up on my fb feed.

Just bumping this as it may not have been seen as posted late last night.

If I promise to buy a ticket the organisers can donate to someone who otherwise wouldn't be able to afford to attend, would the organisers be kind enough to invite Sam Fowles to see if SF takes the opportunity to perform due diligence this time (unlike the session with Andrew Doyle on 7 April on Free Speech Nation)?

If for no other reason than it would bring SF back into the orbit of Joanna Cherry who might have some useful guidance for SF. (September 2019, SF was part of the legal team representing Joanna Cherry MP and other MPs in Cherry/Miller v Prime Minister in re: Johnson's prorogation of Parliament.)

(However, if it's an all-female cast in support of Scots women, rather than a discussion, then I can get behind that and donate a ticket anyway.)
