The Dog House on now - woman describes experience of stalker - shocking police response

Just made me feel so very sad. This woman describes how she has lost confidence after being stalked. She describes how someone followed her and sprayed her with something she thought was acid and continued to follow her. She reported to police who she says refused to come out, said they had no evidence or suspect, asked her if she might be imagining the whole thing. The man later attacked another woman and was imprisoned for it.

I don't know why I'm shocked by this police response, but it never stops being upsetting, hearing of how the police dismiss women and question their sanity.

On C4 news earlier they covered some new ME research and it was mentioned that this is a disease the prodominantly affects women and most research so far has been psychological rather than bio-chemical.

I don't know what I'm looking for here, just exasperating that women are not heard so often isn't it.

I just watched that and it made me tear up. How awful for her. And the police said it was all in her head. That poor woman, and the woman who was attacked which could have been avoided. I hope she put a complaint in. Disgusting behaviour from the police, not surprising if I'm honest.

I was so angry when I watched this earlier, just taken aback really that the police could ask her if she’d perhaps imagined the attack. Why the hell is it so hard to believe women? I do hope she made a formal complaint.

Earlier, I saw the news article about the parents of Gracie Spinks visiting the Cheshire Police dedicated unit.

There should be one attached to every police force. It would at least help being able to talk to a properly trained officer.

A work colleague on a neighbouring site was murdered by her stalker some twenty five years ago now. Attitudes from certain police quarters haven't changed really.
