Thing is this thread had been on the board for nearly 24 hrs. I expect people had read the attachment, I did. But no-one had posted on the thread. I suspect if Mish hadn't bumped it, rescuing from the howling wasteland 😀 of page 2, it might have disappeared without another comment.

Anyway I'm thrilled that transpeople are already safe in Scotland.

Great to know that trans people are so safe in Scotland. Although I do believe that this may also be the case in many other countries, like the USA for example.

I think you might be right. I'm sure that there has been research indicating that the statistics on violence against transgender individuals are massively skewed because they are overrepresented in dangerous occupations such as sex work, particularly in South America.
Maybe it's time to start investigating if that is the case and, if so, identifying and resolving the problems which lead to those people being in that vulnerable position.
If anyone has evidence on the above, I'd appreciate them sharing it. I read this a while ago so it may no longer be correct.
