The Scottish Parliament has ended its membership of Stonewall's Diversity Champions programme, The Herald has learned.
A Holyrood spokesperson said membership expired in February 2024 and the LGBT+ organisation was informed earlier this month that it would not be renewed.

Maybe they don’t think they need to pay Stonewall to provide advice and guidance when they can do so much better on their own. 😠 Plus, they have to save money somewhere.

Once the legal challenges begin in counter protest, the mealy mouthed SMPs can point and say but look we’re not under the nefarious influence of anyone. It’s our own self determined laws helping to make the world kinder.

While it’s great that Stonewall isn’t profiting from the parliamentary coffers, they have absorbed the Stonewall wisdom and teachings into their very DNA. You don’t have to buy the badge to be part of the gang.

Perhaps they did follow the Alison Bailey case and have decided it's not worth paying Stonewall when Stonewall will just do its "we didn't advise them to do this totally stupid thing" shtick after the shit has hit the fan.

You can believe in Nessie or disbelieve. Nothing changing there. From April 1st it is a hate crime to disbelieve in non binary stuff. It already was it seems.

MSP Murdo Fraser likened identifying as non-binary to identifying "as a cat". He is a hate criminal according to the Police Scotland.

There is way more evidence for Nessie than there is for nonbinary stuff in my opinion. People have been seeing something in the loch for a long time. Non binary stuff started recently.

The act actually defines what trans stuff is. If you don't believe in this stuff and go to Scotland you are hatecriming.

It also makes anyone who cross dresses trans. So most women in Scotland are trans now. Because a lot of women wear men's clothes all the time. Arguably if you don't wear makeup and you are a women you are crossdressing. Makeup seems to be the gender norm for women.

Yes,they're perfectly capable of pulling their own batshit laws out of their arses,no need to pay someone to do it for them.

My cat identifies as a non binary non feline human diversity champion. They/them work for Scottish government. On returning home they/them sit expectantly in front of the fridge willing the honey roast ham to be brought out with some chicken and prosciutto. I will be jailed for commiting hate crimes against them from next week.

Stonewall. Its job is done and the damage is done.
The April Fool law will stand alongside the ferry fiasco in testimony of the mess that giving too much power to a bunch of zealots who lack the intellect, experience and honesty to handle it.

The flip side might be that they've finally caught themselves on and realise the ridiculous pressure they're about to put the police under if they have to treat every complaint from the genderwang brigade as genuine hate from a reasonable person...
