"Do you believe?": parent of autistic daughter shares the impact of gender identity belief

😪😪😪😪

This has just had me in tears, a combination of feeling huge empathy for this mum and of my own fears for the future of my own daughter. It covers so much of what's happening in families with autistic adolesent girls (and boys) around the UK and beyond.

Heartbreaking and scary. It's well worth a listen, even if you don't have children in this situation IMO. It covers so much more than just the immediate risk to the children.

Thank you for that. Poor woman, how desperate it is to have to helplessly watch such a mindless destruction of your child’s mental and bodily integrity.

And to be seen as the enemy for trying to prevent it from happening.

I've been on threads before when people have said to me that I just need to be direct with my daughter and tell her the truth. I know this is a feminist board and I know that the advice comes from a good place but it's really not that simple. I've had to learn how to weave around the subject, keeping a "balanced middle ground" (and understandably incurring lots of "there is no middle ground" feedback while trying to do so) when talking to my daughter and to those who can help to challenge the bias that is pulling her in. It often seems like an impossible line to tread. This mum articulates that impossibility so well. It's heartbreaking that she realised what was happening too late (not her fault - this is a stealth attack on autistic young people and it's pulling them in from every angle, just as she says) and was on the backfoot and already destined to fail from when she knew 😪😪

I'm just so sorry for all the parents suffering as they watch their children get indoctrinated by this state sanctioned cult. I can't imagine the pain and outrage and fear you must be feeling.

Thank you for sharing this @BonfireLady

Is all that yelling in the background a protest against women speaking?

That poor woman. Such pain and despair. Such eloquence in describing it.

Our poor girls 😢

I was wondering about that noise too. If it was to try to stop her speaking that is very shameful.
