Ereshkigalangcleg · 14/03/2024 20:58

I've just got an email from Kara Dansky's Substack.

redfacebigdisgrace · 14/03/2024 21:45

This is great!

Codlingmoths · 14/03/2024 23:38

I love that the lawyer is the one who brought the case against lance Armstrong, such a good message of standing up for integrity in sport.

peanutbuttertoasty · 15/03/2024 00:00

Fucking hurrah! Such brave women standing up against this shit. I really hope they win. I feel incensed for them. The balls on him!! Such fucking entitlement and cowardice.

PaleBlueMoonlight · 15/03/2024 00:13

This is fantastic news.

Appalonia · 15/03/2024 00:24

Brilliant news!

SadCelticBunny · 15/03/2024 00:43

What wonderful news this is!

GenderlessVoid · 15/03/2024 05:59

Here's a link to the lawsuit. Paragraphs 179 - 198 (The Male-Female Sport Performance Gap) clearly and concisely highlights the performance gap between men and women, showing why we need to base competitions on sex, not gender identity. Paragraphs 293-98 cover concussions. There's a wealth of supporting information in the lawsuit.

But there's a big issue about whether Title IX applies to the NCAA. That's covered in paragraphs 32-51.

God what a week this is turning out to be!
After the unbelievable charade of IWD there is real progress on a number of fronts.

Loopytiles · 15/03/2024 07:16

headline is shit ‘against transgender inclusion’.

moonjump · 15/03/2024 07:49

I agree, that's not a helpful headline.

Froodwithatowel · 15/03/2024 09:09

Always spun to garner sympathy for men.

It's against male invasion and destruction of female sports.

Esgaroth · 15/03/2024 09:25

People who identify as transgender can be included just fine in their own sex category, as long as they're not taking any banned substances, just like any other athlete. Of course the males might not win as many medals, which I'm sure is very sad for them.

SirChenjins · 15/03/2024 09:31

Excellent news - I wish them every success

RightOnTheEdge · 15/03/2024 09:36

Brilliant! I hope they are successful 🤞🤞

ZeldaFighter · 15/03/2024 10:46

One of the women's sports associations suggested allowing transgender women into the competition but not allowing them to share locker rooms, prizes, records or scholarships. So they could enjoy playing and competing with women, without destroying the sport. I'm assuming non-contact competition.

I'm not sure - what if women are bumped from the team or heats?

Seems like completely pointless pandering to me. Would they let me get in the pool and have a go, too? I can barely swim better than the doggy paddle but it sounds like a fun experience.

Surely there's limited space in the pool.

coureur · 15/03/2024 10:56

I just don't understand what the NCAA get out persisting with this idiocy and not aligning with FINA. I wonder if Lia realises that as soon as they graduate that's the end of this charade and they'll have to go back to the men's category if they want to continue competing at elite level?
