This is a fascinating but disturbing podcast about the inner workings of WPATH.

“On this episode, the girls/women are joined by Mia Hughes, author of the groundbreaking report based on files released from the internal messaging forum of the leading authority of transgender healthcare (“WPATH”). The report confirms some of the worst fears of critics of the gender movement—the files reveal widespread disregard for medical ethics and patient outcomes or overall well-being.
Mia guides us through the evolution of WPATH, its peculiar membership, and what makes this a particularly challenging scandal to address.”

A Special Place in Hell is one of my faves so this is a must-watch for me.

The guest Mia Hughes is calm and articulate. Her observations on the inner workings of WPATH are both startling and depressing. I found her analogy between current “gender affirming” surgery and nineteenth century “ovariotomy” and the politicisation of questioning both treatments fascinating.

I have only recently discovered this podcast but enjoy listening to Sarah and Meghan’s perspective.

I like that they were both in very different worlds, activism and the liberal progressive world of letters, they each saw that identity politics (in terms of how it was practised) was often harmful and that terrible behaviours were being enabled, and they came together to share their different perspectives on the whole mess.

I've got to the bit about mastectomies on 16 year olds...... Does anyone know if breast enhancements allowed for 16 year olds? If not, then there should be no mastectomies.

I mean there really shouldn't be any unless there's cancer or some clinical need, anyway but gender 'medicine' (I really think air quotes are needed here) is so incredibly illogical.

Surely there are just some things we shouldn't do to children's bodies.

It's insane they're doing this when nothing is wrong with the body.
