'dyke identifying' is an offensive new one for me. It stands to reason that such an (ahem) artist would be au fait with gender ideology.

https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2024/03/10/snp-quango-gave-public-money-to-porn-masquerading-as-art/ sorry archive.ph seems to be having a moment.

It's not an insignificant sum of money. The ferrets are reversing. But how can they justify bunging someone so much money without knowing precisely what it would be spent on. And, if I understand correctly, they'd already paid for and seen a taster.

When this masterbate, sorry, masterpiece is...erm...finished. The audience will be told to remove their shoes. I'd hate to think what they're stepping in.

SNP quango gave public money to ‘porn masquerading as art’

Artist Leonie Rae Gasson received £110,000 to create short hardcore sex film described as ‘harmful and abusive’

If this is what it takes for the middle-class, up their own arse clique that is "Creative" Scotland to be held to account, brilliant.

This is what happens where people from the same social circles go through rounds of funding their chums. Cronyism, groupthink and no interest in funding unfashionable projects that would benefit many more people who would otherwise be left out.

Basically, Scotland in miniature.

GailBlancheViola · 11/03/2024 12:03

Just when you think nothing could shock you anymore along comes this..

As for Creative Scptland's Ooh we didn't realise it was that bad. Bollocks, they knew exactly what they were funding, they shouldn't be in charge of any funding if they don't.

anunlikelyseahorse · 11/03/2024 12:03

The Romans would be so proud; a creative brothel to placate the gods of genderism .... hmmmm nice🤮.

Seriously though, don't those funding this creative brothel realise they are having the piss taken out of them? I can't decide if they are niave or just incredibly dim witted. It reminds of the Kandinsky story, when he gets back to his studio after sinking several vodkas, sees his artwork upside down, can't make head nor tail of it, and declares it a masterpiece and everyone agrees with him. Absolutely extraordinary.
The psychology behind it all is fascinating; mass manipulation by the charismatic or mentally deranged.

Cancelledcurio · 11/03/2024 13:23

you know I don't even think anything will happen to CS. I really don't and I think the SNP will get voted back in . The other lot are just as bad and there is no real opposite to all this shite in Scotland . So I think the public will put up with it for a while , maybe even years. Scotland is slow to change. Took them years to vote Tory out, then Labour out(after years and years of voting both respectively as the natural party of Scotland) and SNP will be the same . What a bloody farce .

user149224351 · 11/03/2024 14:05

@Cancelledcurio I completely agree. There is little accountability in many institutions in Scotland - too few dissenting voices or different opinions, too many related interests, a culture of defensiveness and secrecy, and a tendency to blame Westminster or "bullies" rather than taking responsibility to improve. Like the rest of the UK, the public seems to accept this with a sigh before returning to their Daily Mail and moaning about small groups of people with no power who harm nobody, while the small groups of people who harm at a population level get away with it.

The Times has published another article

https://archive.ph/Dq0om jump the paywall but fgs don't touch anything

The DEI bod at Create Scotland (interesting hair colour ✔️) had a previous job at one of the companies behind the porno.

I hope Wings does something on this.

Anger over art agency’s grant to hardcore sex show

Creative Scotland claims the project which involves ‘non-simulated intercourse’ is far more explicit than indicated in the application

Cake, thanks for posting all the articles you post on FWR - it’s very good of you to keep us informed and to provide multiple methods of access to the text 💐

ArabellaScott · 12/03/2024 14:17

Yes, it's much appreciated, cake. Especially the special instructions for navigating walls.

'Bibby said: "There needs to be openness and transparency from Creative Scotland.

"The application should be published in full.

"It has been reported that the filming was to involve live sex acts and to be done in outdoor public places in the Highlands. There are clearly questions to be answered not just about the appropriateness of what was planned with public funds, but also the legality."'

Hear hear.

IcakethereforeIam · 12/03/2024 22:00

Grim

Labour MSP Neil Bibby said the film team had tried to "recruit vulnerable people, including the disabled, at £300 a day to participate in sex acts so extreme they would be provided with psychological aftercare".

Cosmosforbreakfast · 12/03/2024 22:28

JFC. That is just utterly depraved.

caringcarer · 12/03/2024 22:31

SNP waste loads of money that could be better used on education or healthcare. I don't know why Scottish people vote for them? I suppose they must value independence above value for money for public services.

Rainbowshit · 12/03/2024 22:34

WTF is wrong with the women that seem to be leading these depraved projects? I assume they ARE actually women fatter than the penis type. ?Queer theory has a lot to answer for.

ArabellaScott · 14/03/2024 13:56

They need to publish the original application.
