Doritos - why do the very worst keep rising to the top?

Quote
"JUST IN: Doritos fires transgender activist Samantha Hudson just two days after hiring them, claims they were unaware that Hudson likes s*xually assaulting children.

Are these marketing departments run by mor*ns?

Doritos is no longer working with Hudson after tweets surfaced of the transgender saying they would do "depraved things" to a 12-year-old.

Hudson is a proud "Marxist" and calls for the destruction of the "monogamous nuclear family."

"I want to do thuggish things to a 12-year-old girl's [expletive]," Hudson previously said.

"In the middle of the street in Mallorca in panties and screaming that I'm a nymphomaniac in front of a super beautiful 8-year-old girl," another post read.

"I hate women who are victims of sxual assault and go to self help centers to overcome their trauma. Annoying slts.""

Bloody hell. I feel sick reading that.

I was waiting for this one to filter through.

I believe this was a decision by the Spanish office, wasn't it? I could be wrong. I wonder if it was approved by the head office. I suspect there will be some new procedures put into place regarding doing due diligence or maybe just having to have any choice of 'influencer' agreed by the head office first.

This was a serious error.

Thelnebriati · 06/03/2024 11:33

Things are going badly in Spain since they introduced self ID, this is the second negative article I've seen this week.

pronounsbundlebundle · 06/03/2024 11:35

Spain's been off the holiday list for a while now but this just cements that decision. Ye gods.

And I don't often buy Doritos but now it'll be never.

And it really makes you question their vetting in general. After all, most people who fantasise about harming children aren't quite so blatant about it.

lechiffre55 · 06/03/2024 11:36

Why do the very worst predatory proponents of this ideology keep ending up as the public respresentatives?

I'm gender critical. I want women to have access same sex spaces where it's appropriate and proportional e.g. changing rooms, toilets, hopitals, where intimate care is needed, sports to name but a few. But where there is no conflict of rights, I want people who self identify as trans to be treated with respect, be equal under the law, live thier best lives, be happy.

Why is it so many people from this community who end up being public representatives are such utter wierdos as in the Doritos campaign?
Surely a billion dollar company using a new person in an advertising campaign checks their social media profile first? How hard can it be? And yet it keeps happening. Munroe Bergdorf was the first I remember and it's kept happening ever since.
Why is it so difficult to find non lunatics to represent?
Even Dylan Mulvaney I think for all their hyperactive SunnyD sillyness does not have the taint of expressing an attraction to underage girls using violent rapey language. I never thought I'd be using Dylan as a yardstick for normal, but here we are.

Well. When the UN appoints a women's ambassador (iirc) that is a male pornography star, I think we are in a place where there should be grave concerns about the level of research being done before any of these appointments AND how low the bar is in the first place.

Thelnebriati · 06/03/2024 11:48

Why give them the benefit of the doubt? Due diligence is a normal part of any hiring process. So either its been done and someone OK'd them, or they've been given special treatment and no background checks were done. Its a repeating pattern, not an accident.

Rolling Stone had a go at "the worst thing about this is that it makes trans people look bad, and it's the fault of the Right":

Vile. Even if they want to promote one of these males, is it really that difficult to find one that isn't a pervert?

Imustgoforarun · 06/03/2024 11:54

In the past, in my public sector job, if we were interviewing someone we would check them out on SM. We have now been told that we can’t do that anymore because of privacy etc etc. it wasn’t clear but did seem very odd advice.

It makes trans people look very bad. There must be many decent trans people out there doing everything they can to avoid being lumped in with this lunacy. They have enough on their plates without having to deal with this too.

I'm surprised Rolling Stone didn't throw in the shadowy dark cabal of evangelical white supremacist Zurich based financiers. They always love that.

I think this stuff drives people to the right. If all you want is a happy life, a happy family, and to be able to pay the bills, you are pretty much a white supremacist by today's standards.
The number of Labour voters here who have expressed difficulty voting for Labour at the next election shows that they are being pushed away from their traditional political allegiance. I doubt many if any will vote Tory but they are being pushed in the direction of the right if they want a middle of the road centre ground. Strangely enough the more exciting politics is the worse it is for the people. When politics is dull as dishwater it's probably the best time for the population. Just look at America.

In my view one consequence of this is going to be an increase in importance to the Labour leaderships of the younger, non-working class, activist-minded supporters. They're going to want things from a Labour government in return for their support.

This is why Trump will be the next US President IMO (hope I’m wrong on that but not at all confident I will be). If the very central/loosely liberal views you have are constantly being framed as prejudiced and right-wing extremist then how can you vote for a left-wing party? Not only that but that party will actually crow and gloat about not wanting you as a voter, to work for them, be part of public services etc etc. God knows I can’t stand Trump but I can’t write off everyone who votes for him as an idiot. From what I see voting for Biden is an equally dumb move and people have eyes and ears and can work out for themselves where people like them aren’t wanted.

MrsOvertonsWindow · 06/03/2024 12:56

It feels never ending doesn't it?

StephanieSuperpowers · 06/03/2024 13:11

What I can't see is what the attraction of this individual as a spokeseater for Doritos was in the first place.

I imagine that they are trolling women as women can't complain or even question the situation - the marketing guys think this is funny

I think this is true. To paraphrase Germaine Greer - Most women do not realise how much men hate them.

SinnerBoy · 06/03/2024 16:27

I really fail to see the logic behind Rolling Stone claiming that the Right are trying to make transw look bad. It's completely absurd, these people putting themselves in public and posting their sick and deranged desires are simply showing how bad they are, it needs no external input.

I feel sorry for the transw who go about their lives normally and uneventfully, they get the back wash from people who assume that they are all alike.

nauticant · 06/03/2024 16:33

Here's the logic:

EsmaCannonball · 06/03/2024 17:12

Aside from all the sick, predatory stuff, have you noticed just how many transactivist or antifa types who proclaim themselves proud Marxists or revolutionary anarchists seem very willing to take money from global capitalist corporations? Is there anything that isn't just cosplay to them?

WitchyWitcherson · 06/03/2024 17:16

One of our resident TRAs accused us of "nutpicking" the other day (a flawed argument where the person picks one or two "crazy" people from a cohort to discredit that entire cohort). On the one hand I agree it's not the best type of argument if you can only come up with one or two crazies... but in woo woo land there are VERY ripe pickings!

OnlyLoveCanBreakYourHeart · 06/03/2024 17:27

Err... "nutpicking" 😮😂
