Pity it's only being looked into as it might not happen if Labour gets in at GE.
The National Police Chiefs' Council (NPCC) said that each search is carried out on a 'case-by-case basis'.
'All searches are dealt with on a case-by-case basis after consideration by a custody sergeant based on the response of the detainee,' the NPCC said.
Based on the response of the detainee?? What response could possibly result in a female saying "sure i don't mind a man pawing at me in closed quarters where I can't legally say stop" or is that a threat - be good and get a biological female officer, misbehave/shouty and get a biological male?
