Checking in to say I agree with previous posters about GG. Total arsehole, as is L. Fox.

I think every parliament should have a non mainstream party/independent maverick in the mic just to shake the rest awake.

Even if I tend to disagree with him/them there's power in politicians not beholden to party colours.

If our whole parliament was filled with independents GRA and the messy bits of the EQA would be dead.

A lot of people object to his very hardline position on Palestine.

Lots of feminists dislike him because he defended Julian Assange when he was accused of rape. He believes Assange was fitted up.

It’s a little more than that on Assange. He said that having sex with someone who is asleep wasn’t rape just poor ‘sexual etiquette ‘. He questioned whether Naz Shah was really the victim of a forced marriage. He generally dismisses women. He talks a lot to male Muslim ‘community leaders’ but not their ‘wives and daughters’. (In GG’s eyes that’s who women are). He’s vile.

I met him when I was on a school trip to parliament about 30 years ago. He came across as sleazy.
He been married quite a few times. Definitely a lady’s man .

Galloway is a ghastly man. Panders to dictators, sleazy history, just an awful human being.

He admired Saddam Hussain. His sycophantic speech in which he called him indefatigable is on a cringe level with the pussy acting in big brother.

George Galloway refuses to speak to people with Israeli nationality because he doesn't recognise Israel. He walked out of a debate on the West Bank because one of the other participants had Israeli citizenship.

He said something about not everyone needing consent for each insertion when defending Assange.

He’s good on gender and I think he’s good on most issues. Typical that everyone is slagging him off without offering specific issues. I predict they’ll now go on and on about Big Brother 🙄

Yep. Although he said "not everybody needs to be asked prior to each insertion", what he meant was even worse in context. What he meant was no woman anywhere is allowed to stipulate that she needs to be asked prior to each insertion. I've seen women excuse him and JA by saying they wouldn't personally consider it rape, but GG didn't say 'for some women that wouldn't be rape'. He made it very clear that these women weren't allowed to have experienced it as rape.

It's another case of a man thinking women's consent is transferrable. It doesn't matter if woman Z wouldn't mind waking up to that. Woman A does bloody mind, and thankfully the letter and the spirit of the law is on her side. Deal with it, Galloway.
