I’ve name changed but I’ve been here a LONG time.

I posted in a political discussion about the definition of women and the use of cis-gender. I don’t consider myself transphobic, I was absolutely clear that I defend the rights of everyone to live and identify how they want, including protecting female only spaces, and that I define a woman as an adult human female. In 2 posts.

I’ve been banned from the page, trolled, my business has been targetted via its overarching company (I have a franchise) and I’m spooked. We live above the shop, and my kids are here and they know where I am.

What prompted me to post was the comments about Jess Phillips being a coward. She is trying to do all this publicly, in a world where it’s even more dangerous to be a woman. I’m so angry and feel so helpless about it all. I’m not easily cowed, but these utter bullies don’t fight a fair fight. They’re not arguing about a philosophical position, they’re attempting to ERADICATE anyone that disagrees with their fucking ridiculous world view. And I feel like there isn’t anything I can do without risking my family. That’s it, really.

I'm so sorry you're going through this. It's terrifying. If you're in fear that you or your family could get hurt, it is entirely reasonable to go to the police. Please do. Strictly speaking, if you are in fear, that can point to an assault. I know that's a bit academic and the police probably won't actually do anything, but it's about getting it logged so that if - god forbid - anything did happen, there is more pressure to act.
It will very probably be fine because these people are just awful shouty bullies but I don't think most would actually act.

I can't offer advice more than you have already had. But be strong they are trying to shut you up they are cowards who won't actually do anything to you physically they are just trying to stop your income.

It's shit and what makes it even more infuriating is they won't even spell out what their supposed world view actually is. What is this thing, "woman", that they say transwomen are? If they cared, they'd try and communicate it. They don't, because threatening women is the real core of it.

I believe you're mistaken. Boycotts happen to businesses that either seek to eradicate women or are actively misogynistic, not "pro trans" ones. Unless being pro trans is about eroding women's rights?

99% of people here are fine with adults living how they wish (assuming no harm comes to others) and for trans people to have good health outcomes too. See the post about the specialist service for trans and non binary people for example.

I have boycotted a few large businesses because of their actions. I don't remember doxxing their CXOs or threatening them or their family though.

A ring doorbell or similar that records anyone at your door might help you feel safer and will provide evidence if needed.

I'm pretty certain they won't turn up at your home, they're usually just gobby blue-haired teenagers, but I understand your fears if your address has been given out.

Hi @GrandKarber also - I’m friends with a prominent GC campaigner she’s in the media frequently since last year and she’s had direct threats online and via post (they know where she lives). Nothing has happened to her and we’ve spoken about it (police involved too), and we both agreed that it doesn’t fit wit the narrative TRAs trying to promote that trans ppl victimised / oppressed. Tactics appear to be target women quietly until they shut up. I hope you’re ok. X

Your friend works in the DV division, not the hate crime division and she isn't the CPS. OP report your fears, there's things that can be done to help. Like panic buttons etc. I can't acctually believe someone's made you feel like this or gone to such lengths to identify you for an opinion.

Did OP post any imagery that could be considered hateful by some?

Here's an example on a gender critical youtube channel, this is something I am unfortunately seeing a lot of, it's a set of images featuring an offensive caricature of trans people (notice their shirt has the trans flag colours), one of the images depicts them as being hanged (which appears to be a hateful reference to suicide amongst trans people).
