Feminism: Sex and gender discussions
Helleofabore · 20/02/2024 20:58

I read about this in the last few days. The school doubled down in saying they are 'fully inclusive' so they didn't make any complaints. They support this male playing in the competition, in other words. These adults are signing these teenage girls up to be injured.

It is fucking outrageous.

SamW98 · 20/02/2024 21:01

Watching that video it’s a fucking bloke about 6 inches taller and several stone heavier than anyone else playing.

I can’t even begin to fathom how we’ve got to this.

The size of him! He just struts around like he hasn't just thrown a girl to the floor. He should be charged with assault.

MyGooseisTotallyLoose · 20/02/2024 21:12

No no no , you've got it wrong..THIS NEVER HAPPENS!
Obviously it's clear who the vulnerable, defenceless person on this is who needs protection and lauded!!

ZeldaFighter · 20/02/2024 21:29

The reporting is very careful. The coach says he forfeited the game because they had play-offs coming up and he didn't want the team to be injured..but they don't deny 3 girls were injured in one half and they don't say how they were injured or why.

The video of the trans-identified male player ripping the ball away so violently that the opposing female player ends up on the floor tells more of the story.

God, why are these links always the fucking Daily Mail. I don't click on DM links because I don't want to give them advertising money.

Because the fucking Guardian doesn't care enough about women to report these stories.

I'm not sure how much the Mail cares about is either, but my rage at the Graun is considerable: it's supposed to care. I'm never, ever giving them a penny ever again. I almost never click on their stories.

Because the fucking Guardian and the fucking BBC are captured by trans zealots and will never report this stuff.

If you want the truth about the current war on women you will have to sully your eyes on the 'wrong' media sources, because the 'acceptable' media sources are covering it up. Complain to the 'acceptable' media if you don't like it.

I would have said the same at one time, but conflict makes for strange bedfellows, and at least the Mail 'gets' the whole issue of trans impacting on women's rights. Unlike the Guardian, which used to be my paper of choice - I wouldn't use it to burn now. It has gone full-on mmmm-trans-are-lovely, women-who-cares-about-them, crazy.

As said much better by the posters before me!

MrGHardy · 20/02/2024 21:53

The Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association said a player cannot be excluded from a team based on gender identity.
Section 43.3.1 on the handbook said, 'A student shall not be excluded from participation on a gender-specific sports team that is consistent with the student’s bona fide gender identity.'

This is what gets me. They wouldn't be excluded because of their gender identity but because of their biological sex.

Why not? they're the ones reporting this, not the Guardian. Support who you think is right. Don't let snobbery get in the way.

Riley Gaines voices her opinion on this - she’s not wrong

RILEY GAINES: When did domestic abuse of women become 'sport'?

The irony is, for all the readiness to demonstrate their oh-so-feminist credentials, the Left is blind to the lunacy of emboldening males to physically and psychologically attack us...

Yes - wtf even is a 'gender specific sports team'? Isn't that totally exclusionary of nonbinaries or agender folx?Hmm

There are many sources of information about this happening but most of them do not come from the left.
Or they come from dedicated male sport sites.

Datun · 23/02/2024 00:57

I have to applaud the school's basketball coach, Kevin Ortins, who called a halt to the game. Though I'm not sure he had much of a choice, considering there weren't many un-injured girls left on the bench.

it's difficult to believe that this is actually happening.

State sanctioned violent abuse against women.

Absolute fuckers

AvacadoFieldsForever · 23/02/2024 07:40

Plenty of comments saying the girls need to just refuse to play and they are complicit in this carrying on but when you could be shunned socially or even suspended that’s a high bar to get over for a teenager, especially with the cowardly adults telling you to be fucking kind.

It seems it’s not just basketball but also volleyball and track and field that they excel in. Imagine the school/college love all the recognition they get from their student’s achievements.

Gotta love Riley Gaines!

I can’t believe so many people in the UK are so dismissive about transwomen taking over women’s sports, spaces and services when the obvious results are clear in what’s happening in the US, Canada and Australia

I sympathise, I honestly do. I used to be a dedicated reader of the Guardian and would rarely, if ever, venture onto the DM. Strange times make strange bedfellows though.

Now, I rarely read the Guardian. I still rarely read the DM, oddly because articles like this upset me and I know they'll be posted here without me having to look for them.

The DM is all over the place with trans issues anyway. At least they report the unsavoury stuff but then they'll have a gushing uncritical piece on some celeb nonentity being an ally, or nonbinary or some other fuckwittery.
