Currently watching this and thus far Gold hasn't really challenged Went that strongly, which I mean, is reasonable. It's not a boxing match. That said Went has deployed a tonne of tripe so far dressed up as 'reasonable'.

The argument that 'life is all about accommodating each other' (using religion coexistence as a metaphor) fails to mention how the accomodation in this instance is entirely one damn way...

And personally, I don't see much wrong with some gyms advertising themselves as allowing trans women to use women's facilities and some advertising themselves as not allowing trans women to use women's facilities. It would be self correction too, it would soon become apparent which ones were more popular and where more provision was needed. My reservation is that there MUST be some places for me where Katy cannot go. That's all.

Oh yes, because everyone lives near multiple gym facilities and has plenty of time to access them, so it doesn't matter if women have to undress with men.

Do you have a link to Az Hakeem's comment about the 5%? Surely those transvestites who are aroused when they see themselves in the mirror dressed in women's clothing are also AGP, even if they have no intention of modifying their bodies. And aren't some of them just the ones who haven't modified their bodies yet? (I'm thinking of the old joke which DH mentioned in his autogynephilia article: What’s the difference between a transvestite and a transsexual? About five years.)

An AGP male is an AGP male whether he's gone the whole way with surgery, hormones etc, or just likes wearing women's underwear occasionally.

But I'm not sure what this has to do with KJW, since I think he has had surgical body modifications, so he's not just a transvestite.

Yup, the bar could be much much lower, the bar could be trans women ARE women and there is no choice anywhere, they will be given access to all women's facilities with impunity.

Believe me, I would rather, much rather, none of this was going on. But like I said, there will be a point when we have to coexist.

And of course there are more gyms in some parts of the country than others, I guess, but there are about ten in the fairly small town where I live so my proposed scenario would be possible. In my imagined town, though, I don't anticipate that the gyms which advertise themselves as allowing trans women in the women's facilities will be as popular as the ones which don't.....

Yes wrong word! All their language has rubbed off on me. I was just trying to say his excuse for not using the men’s changing room was rubbish.

Katy shares the GC stance on prisons, sports & domestic violence refuges if I understood correctly. The area where Katy differs from women like me is changing rooms (no mention made of hospital wards).

This is surely because Katy is vanishingly unlikely to be in a prison, domestic violence refuge or in a sporting event as such. However, Katy might find Katyself in a leisure centre changing room and so Katy has decided this is OK. Katy can use the women's area. Katy is borderline diabetic and so exercise is recommended.

But what of the women who are borderline diabetic and need to exercise? What of them, remaining shut up in a cubicle until they hear Katy's male voice disappear maybe? Where can they go to change?

Changing rooms are basically male and female, not 'those with D cup breasts' and those without.

She explains that male sexuality is different to womens, and often develops to focus on instant gratification, which can be all encompassing.

Society develops to balance male and female needs, and without shame, some men would focus on their sexuality all of the time without any concern of the consequences to themselves and everyone around them.

Making a paraphilia socially acceptable means men are allowed to perform it all of the time and involve everyone around them.

Men with paraphilia will constantly push boundaries and are likely to develop others.

I cant see how we can allow a little bit of a paraphilia into society, or a few men to perform their paraphilia and not have any negative inpact on society.

Men with gender are forever trying to suggest that them ending up in a womans space, dressed in clothes that they are turned on by, or even undresed, is something that's just happens to them. It an series of events thats out of their control.

KJW says he was the most reluctant trans person - that it was the last option.

He says that he needs to swim to save his health, but men dont want him in male facilities, or its not appropriate for his breasts to be in male facilities. So what else can he do but be a man in a towel in the womens changing room? He even blames women - his female friend encouraged it.

But every single step was his choice and his responsibility.

The more I think about KJW invading women's changing rooms, the crosser I get, both with KJW and the female friend who decided unilaterally that it was fine.

KJW self-describes as not 'passing' as a woman (I agree totally), having a male voice (yes) but having D cup breasts. So any woman in that changing room would see and hear a man. With breasts. Do KJW and friend really have no concept of the distress that would cause a lot of women?

And this was in a Bannatyne gym, where birth sex applies.

I hope Bannatyne gyms ban KJW and the enabling friend.
