Mumsnet wants to hear your thoughts on politics at the moment

I came across this survey by chance, and not for any moment suggesting that MNHQ doesn't want the view of FWRers, but dont remember seeing it here!

"We'd like to hear your thoughts on politics at the moment - please fill in this survey even if you don't vote or engage with politics.

Open to: Mumsnet users in the UK

Estimated completion time: 3 to 4 minutes

All who complete the survey will get an entry into our monthly prize draw, where a Mumsnet user will win a £250 voucher.

Thanks and good luck!
MNHQ

Standard Insight Terms and Conditions apply"

So if like me you haven't seen the link and want to add your thoughts here is the link to the survey https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/BKG95NK

Thanks. It is very simple. But the truth is, as far as politics goes, I doubt any party cares at all about what a middle aged SAHM thinks about anything.

Your vote is as valuable as anyone else's vote. Of course they bloody care!

How irritating. No text boxes and no tick box for ‘women’s safety’ as an important issue…..

anyolddinosaur · 14/02/2024 08:34

Obviously a paid for survey - and they dont wish to hear if womens safety is your priority. So - family life is a priority for me BECAUSE I dont want to see safeguarding ignored and children told they are in the wrong body for disliking outdated sexual stereotypes.

How to claim no-one is talking about womens rights - dont have a question about it or any opportunity to write it in.

Right?!

Villagetoraiseachild · 14/02/2024 11:30

So in effect they want to hear your thoughts but only those that fit their prescribed boxes?
Or the thoughts they think are useful or want to hear?
Not your actual thoughts.

Villagetoraiseachild · 14/02/2024 11:48

Had a look and there are type boxes for some answers.
Worth doing.
I hope the winner of the prize is a single mum struggling on benefits.

Villagetoraiseachild · 14/02/2024 11:49

That's not me by the way!

Absolutely.

I'm sick to the teeth of this shit.

And then if anyone does dare to mention it we're obviously shilling for the Tories.

ArabellaScott · 14/02/2024 12:15

There is the choice of 'other' and a free text box to explain for several questions.

anyolddinosaur · 14/02/2024 13:27

@ArabellaScott Must have been changed - or a different survey - as none on the one I filled in

IwantToRetire · 14/02/2024 16:39

Must admit it was late when I posted, more because I thought it strange it hadn't come up in the index of FWR threads, but other strange MNHQ things do.

I never got past the first page as the was nowhere for me to say KB for PM!

oh dear. The prime minister question should have had "neither of those" answer as well as "don't know" which is a bloody stupid answer to have as the only alternative to a name

it was a bit basic, but I've done it.

then they've change it - no chance for free text really, apart from the "other" which really doesn't cut it for me. Far far too basic to be useful

I wonder if in fact it is for MNHQ and want to get bland political "stats" as part of some sales pitch. (which would explain why it didn't pop up here)

But on the other hand I signed up to YouGov surveys, many of which are just about marketing, but I am building up a small nest egg for doing it. And the so called political ones are really badly designed as well.

I suspect most of them (and this?) are put together to get the outcomes they want. Whoever they are.

No that's what I meant - you could select 'other' and free text box was there. Yes very basic. But still, writable in.

Brefugee · 15/02/2024 08:32

got it.

But. I don't know what the actual purpose of this survey is. It could have been designed a lot better IMO - but they might only want to be doing a very rough thing for some weird reason.
