Someone upthread mentioned Denton's playbook. There is a whiff of that here.

The 'barrister from Somerset' who pops up in a people's forum with a question to the prime minister isn't just anyone. Not even just any old barrister. Not even just any old discrimination barrister.

This person and their tweet were referred to in court that very same day to support an application for significant damages against their former client.

I'd be happy to bet very few people who witnessed/watched that news clip know how deeply involved in these issues this person has been for years.

I fully intend on asking any politician lobbying for my vote the next question "what is a woman" and will vote for that person if they respond with a factual answer. Any hedging or fudging I'll laugh at them and walk away.

My record is something like 11 or 14 (I'd have to go back and check) deletions in one thread all about this exact issue that's been deleted today.

Apparently you can use wrong-sex pronouns if it's somebody you like , out of respect.
But it's fine to use the correct ones if the man is a sex offender.
It is confusing though because even if that man you like has a sexual fetish which he acts upon daily in front of children, then it's still okay to call him she/her if you find him likeable. Even if he is sexually offending every day.

To be fair, as a PP pointed out, the 'I think this is about trans' came from the programme moderator standing near White in the audience, not White themself. Different voice.

Actually @CriticalCondition on rewatching, I think you are right. But nonetheless the point remains that it is trans people that are asking for different/ additional rights to everyone else, not LGB people.

I get the impression from certain threads that they're watched and posts reported now, rather than engaged with and counter points made. But always instructive to see which threads it is this happens to, if not very nice for the posters who incur deletions.
