I haven’t found the routine ones too bad, and the staff have been very good.

Don’t use deodorant on the day, especially spray deodorants, as they can give false readings.

At least we don’t have to have the finger up the bum prostate exam, what with only men having a prostate. Even the NHS says only men have a prostate.

CriticalCondition · 13/02/2024 20:07

I had mammograms every year for a while because of a family history of breast cancer. I literally didn't think anything of them until I breastfed and realised how amazing they were. Got much more attached to them after that.

Good luck tomorrow, Datdamndamp.

I thought Mumsnet sent you an email when they deleted you to tell you why? I’m fairly sure I didn’t correctly sex RW because I’m always careful to use RW’s name rather than run the risk of deletion. I wish Mumsnet would give some indication of the misdeed so we can avoid making same rule break again.

Na. Not for minor infraction.

You only get those if youve been a really naughty girl.

Communist Party of Britain - wrong kind of left wing.

Best not associate with that. Think of the labels and abuse you'd get on twitter for being hard left.

Does that mean that @SinnerBoy will get one?

JanesLittleGirl · 13/02/2024 20:36

*never get one

If you don't know why you've been deleted you can report one of your other posts on the thread and ask why the other one was deleted. I've done this lots of times, because sometimes I've had a post deleted and I can't even remember what was in it, and sometimes I think the post shouldn't have been deleted. On at least one occasion they reinstated a post because when they looked at it again after I asked, they decided it was OK.

If they haven't emailed you it means you haven't done anything too bad so you don't get a strike.

I'm not MNHQ. You'd have to ask them.

Sometimes they get on my tits and I disagree with them but for the most part they generally seem to get It okay. For what is an impossible job, I'm ok with that.

From the pictures I've seen this particular individual favours a skirt above the knee. No trippy hems involved.

I never comment on any woman's sartorial choices. That restriction doesn't apply to people who aren't women.

Maybe @SinnerBoy just needs to identify as a naughty girl?

Datdamndamp · 13/02/2024 20:53

Thank you so much everyone for your kind words. I had a non-routine (and thankfully clear ) squeeze just before COVID, so I know what I'm in for. For those reminding about prostate's, yes we all face indignities growing older and I'm shocked that my prescriptions, now I'm nearly fifty (thanks @Boiledbeetle) fill an entire shopping bag.

To get us back on track. What an enjoyable clip that was. A real turnaround that when asked about trans rights, women's rights are brought up.

AdamRyan · 13/02/2024 20:54

CriticalCondition · 13/02/2024 17:14

Ooh, AdamRyan you are naughty. Your use of a sex based pronoun just got deleted.

Meh
That will teach me for trying to be vaguely balanced 😂

LarkLane · 13/02/2024 20:58

I got deleted for comparing a prolific poster to a parrot.
I refreshed myself with the rulz as recommended and joined the RSPB in atonement.

Any emails?

This talk of emails v none has me wondering if people get many

Why as soon as trans rights are mentioned are schools mentioned in the same breath? Do people honestly believe schools are pushing children into changing gender? I’m too busy planning lessons, marking books, entering data etc to even think about gender as an issue.

Yes, people do believe (rightly so) that schools are pushing this.

Loads of examples on this board and reports like this demonstrate https://policyexchange.org.uk/publication/asleep-at-the-wheel/

@EasternStandard A bit of an odd one really, as the same day I was deleted for being rude when challenging a racist remark made on another board.
My query as to my second deletion, whilst the racist remark was allowed to stand, resulted in a stern email re being naughty for a second time in a day and referred to my parrot remark made earlier.
The other week it was the claim that I had a sock account (untrue).
Obvs I am a very annoying person.

A while back I actually complained about another posters posts, not something I do often. It wasn't a person I recognise at the mnhq end who ended up letting the bad comment stand and deleted some of mine for not being in the spirit!

I may have sulked for a few minutes!

I've just been deleted on another thread for mentioning someone was on a reporting spree!

Cailleach1 · 13/02/2024 21:22

ResisterRex · 13/02/2024 15:51

I get the impression from certain threads that they're watched and posts reported now, rather than engaged with and counter points made. But always instructive to see which threads it is this happens to, if not very nice for the posters who incur deletions.

I had a thread deleted recently. I was wondering about the actual sex of someone currently on trial for a murder in England. Other horrible activities associated with the supposed ‘female’ defendent as well. The accused is being reported as an ‘woman’. I think it may be a man.

Thing is, I don’t know what was on the thread. There were 8 posts when I last looked, and then 30 on the deleted thread. Mumsnet said such speculation wasn’t in the spirit of mumsnet. However, I would hope outright disinformation and lies (if the supposed ‘woman’ is in reality a man) aren’t either.

LarkLane · 13/02/2024 21:31

@Boiledbeetle It's a thankless task being a mod I'm sure, but some are more moddy than others. Some decisions you do indeed just have to shrug off and move on after a wee froth.😁

😬 I’ve had a few of the goadier posters try their best

I’ve been good lately, no deletions (that I’ve noticed anyway)

One gets irritated enough when there’s a mob going for it 😂

The Policy Exchange is a right wing think tank masquerading as an impartial source.

Gender ideology is in schools, sadly

Combattingthemoaners · 13/02/2024 22:14

So because they have produced reports saying girls should be involved in sport they are a reputable source? I don’t trust any publications with a political agenda including anything from the left. They say they’re an “educational charity” they are not.

LarkLane · 13/02/2024 22:26

Are you able to recommend any publications without a political agenda? I'd be interested to take a look. Combattingthemoaners?
