Based on the furious reaction to Alberta premier Danielle Smith's "common sense" policy on trans issues, I think things are beginning to turn. The Prime Minister and cabinet are against her as is the leader of the national NDP. The provincial NDP are against her. The legacy media manage to feature no one who supports her. The usual talking heads on supposedly diverse panels, marching in lock step, misrepresent the policy and criticize her. The Alberta Medical Association made a statement against her, as have the public sector unions, teachers, and social workers or their representatives.
And yet .....
She has wide support of people across Canada. The most quoted figure is 78%! I have read hundreds of comments on the news reports posted by legacy media to youtube and these are almost universally in support and indicate people know what the issues are.
Today, the leader of the Opposition Pierre Poilievre stated in response to media questions, that he is against the use of puberty blockers for minors.
As to the trans person in question. For someone who is so afraid of guns he had to flee his own country, the Yukon is an odd choice.
