Dad lost custody for refusing 8 year old's puberty blockers

The US, of course. NY state. That poor little boy being forced to live like a girl from age 3-8. By 9 he was a boy again and it seemed to all come from the mother.

When will these adults actually catch themselves on? We have parental alienation rules over here and I want to hope that social workers would see through this, but I fear they might not, given SWE's recent statement on the tribunal of a GC social worker.

Father loses legal battle to stop his son, 8, from changing gender

Dennis Hannon, 32, spoke to DailyMail.com about the upsetting legal challenged he's faced to retain medical authority over his son who, he claims, was not suffering gender dysphoria.

Children have been removed from their parents and placed in the care of child services in various states in Australia for refusing to affirm or refusing puberty blockers. It is truly frightening.

Dennis Hannon, the father, says he can't afford to appeal.

An excellent case for a crowdfunder, I'd have thought.

That poor kid.

I have read somewhere recently that there is a case coming before the USA Supreme Court of parents in a similar situation claiming loss of their parental rights. I haven't been able to find any details, can anyone help?

With the current court make up I would be very surprised if their judgment didn't come down very strongly in favour of the parents. It seems clearly unconstitutional to make medical and social decisions against parents expressed wishes, unless a case of life and death.

On the other hand in Texas we have parents claiming the loss of their parental rights by not being able to give their children puberty blockers.

Surely the state only has to show this in unproven medical care and can have permanent negative outcomes on a child's health? Let's hope so ..

People line the railing on all three levels of the outdoor rotunda of the state Capitol in Austin, and wave signs during the "Fight for our Lives" rally in opposition of anti-LGBTQ+ bills on March 27, 2023.

Texas Supreme Court hears legal challenge to ban on gender-transition care for kids

A fight over allowing transgender children to access puberty blockers and hormone therapies could hinge on justices’ interpretation of parental rights.

Absolutely. I’d contribute.

Puberty blockers for an 8 year old… wtf.

I wonder to what extent this would be successful here? The importance of children remaining in their families is baked into our safeguarding / childcare legislation. The Rachel Meade case shows what happens when transactivists are allowed to weigh in and the judge in that case was clear and dismissive about the lack of credibility of the complainant.
Despite the well funded trans lobby groups attempts to undermine the independence of the judiciary, I'm not sure it's that successful - reality being what it is?

There really needs to be widespread coverage of what is happening. This is child abuse sanctioned & enforced by the state. The stuff of nightmares, that poor Father & child.
