Green Party Women have regrown

It seems the attempt to purge The Green Party of pesky women who believe in biology, the planet, and having their own opinions has failed.

The GPW have regained access to their own e-mailing list after being locked out for months because they knew women are real, and they are about to run new elections for the committee.

Stunned to get a GPW email after SO LONG?
It’s all about Green Party Women 2024 elections: whoop whoop!

I am not sure what has happened, but I somehow suspect the attempt to disaffiliate the group for all women in the party ran into few legal snags. Like the fact women actually have legal rights. Perhaps women lawyers had something to do with it too.

Undoubtedly the TRAs will be hoping to seize power in the women's group so members get ready to vote. There is a lot more fighting to come as the recent suspension of three key members of the Green Seniors group who also somehow over their long lives have come to the crazy opinion that human biology is real. Meanwhile TRA Green Feminists group have just elected a transwoman as their co-leader so they are doubling down. No more of that female centered feminism it seems.

The Ali Shahrar case should be getting judgement sometime in the next few months. The TRAs should be worried. Their dirty tricks are failing and if there is open debate they tend to lose.

I watched the Green Party Women hustings this evening.

The TRAs didn't stand a single candidate. Every woman standing for election believes in material reality and supports women's sex based rights.

If you're a member of Green Party Women, please do vote. Although these fantastic GC women are running unopposed, the Green Party voting system offers an option of RON (re-open nominations) and the TRAs could use it.

The candidates are hoping for a strong turn out because that will be a vote of confidence in a women's committee which supports women's rights.

I’m not a member but wish well those who are able to vote.

and wait eagerly for tomorrow’s result

Akl the women who are standing at the Green Party Women commitee elections are sex realists
They are solid ecofeminists who talk about our sex based rights in their candidate statements.

But if you are a member of the Green Party and are eligible to vote, please use your vote. We can't take anything for granted.

The TQ+ who are GPW members are voting RON (Re-open Nominations) and urging their followers to do the same.

Thank you - just the info I needed

Anyone in GPW, voting closes today.

Email was sent on 8th Feb with links.

cariadlet · 15/02/2024 10:20

Deadline for voting is 5pm.

Not only are TRAs trying to sabotage the elections, I have heard of a number of women who didn't get the email with a voting link and when they queried this, the EROs checked and found that they were no longer on the membership list.

Every vote counts.

WarriorN · 15/02/2024 11:34

Yes I've heard of some for whom that's happened too

cariadlet · 16/02/2024 12:09

All candidates have been elected despite a RON (Re-open Nominations) campaign by the TRAs in the Green Party.

We now have a 100% GC Green Party Women commitee.

Did RON get many votes?

WarriorN · 16/02/2024 13:00

Hoorah!

WarriorN · 16/02/2024 13:03

When I look at the voting break down, it looks like there were a lot of TRAs voting?

Many were elected with 160 out of 300 votes or similar.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 16/02/2024 13:26

Wonderful news, I know someone who will be very pleased!

I've heard of women who couldn't vote because they had dropped off the membership list even though they thought they were GPW members.

WarriorN · 16/02/2024 13:39

Ah yes I'd forgotten that, I also know if one who couldn't vote

NecessaryScene · 16/02/2024 13:50

No, the 160 is the amount needed to win - 50% of 320. Mostly they got about 225 real votes versus 95 RON.

WarriorN · 16/02/2024 14:00

Ah thanks for the explanation Smile

dinglethedragon · 16/02/2024 14:04

The split looks to be in the 70% GC to 30% TRA arena- based on the numbers where there was only one candidate. The green's ranked voting system complicated the last category - of three committee members as people split their first votes across all three - but all came good in the end!

WarriorN · 16/02/2024 14:16

Yes that last one threw me a bit!

craftykamo · 17/02/2024 05:52

What's a little shocking is just how small the electorate for this election is. For an election supposedly open to all female members, to only rustle up 320 voters is embarrassing.

The numbers for RON might also be over inflated as I ballsed up my votes for co-chair, not realizing I had to manually move the selections and only figuring it out once I'd submitted my first few votes (sorry!)
