Small change in a magazine

I subscribe to some craft magazines (via Kindle unlimited)Without any announcement Simply Sewing has dropped the use of pronouns. In the sewist contributor bios at the beginning it always used to show a picture of clearly male Duncan with the dutiful he/him (no shit sherlock) but recently the pronouns have disappeared- this unheralded change pleases me greatly.

Wow, I missed out on magazines even doing this! Seems very clunky in a bio, too, when they could just write "Duncan loves getting his sewing machine out and has been sewing since he was a wee boy". (Or they/them equivalent).

Heard a story at the weekend about a woman with a boyish nickname being announced as "they/them" on a programme, purely on the assumption that she'd chosen the nickname as part of some non-binary identity! (When it was just a silly thing like "Sarah Johnson" having been known as "Jonno" for donkey's years). I wonder if one of their featured contributors pushed back on it - I'd be bloody annoyed to be listed with pronouns, correct or not.

Oh that's interesting. I stopped my subscription when they started with the pronouns (and an article about sewing for changing menopausal bodies which managed not to use the word "woman")

That's good news. These little changes show that people are feeling that the wind is changing.

Spoke to soon they’re not used in bios at beginning but are in the individual articles. Still I suppose it’s a start

I stopped my subscription when it went woke. Pronouns and patterns for unisex ie noones body. Shock factor people, male and female bodies are different. I found it so irritating I cancelled
