Clear and unambiguous rules from CTT

This popped into my inbox. Very clear. For those who don’t know CTT is the governing body of cycling time trials (as opposed to racing) in the U.K.

They are clear.

Oh, apart from one line where they use gender but mean sex ffs. 🙄

Are there sanctions for giving misleading or inaccurate information, or downright lying about your 'gender'? Because there is a subtle instruction to anyone who might be so inclined with the line, 'Please take care when answering them as they will determine which class you are able to ride in.' When I read this it felt like a nudge, nudge, wink, wink, sort of line.

That's quite a big problem if it's what's in the declaration but I suspect they have two different questions for sex and gender and so they are using the catch all term.

@StripeySuperNova yeah, see Regulation 10. It seems that they use gender as a term for biological sex throughout which is an oversight but the regulations seem pretty bombproof otherwise. https://www.cyclingtimetrials.org.uk/articles/view/11

@donquixotedelamancha they don’t. I think either the updates haven’t rolled out or they’ve dropped the ball.

@donquixotedelamancha oh it seems that is just for registering on the site. When you enter an event you get this, which apparently will only be asked once and then will permanently update your profile and be used to assign you to the correct category on the start sheet. Better I guess.
