I live in Brighton (Hove actually). I went to dinner in my local pub tonight and had a lovely evening with friends. Towards the end of the evening, I went to the ladies. On opening the door, I was greeted by a startled young man declaring ‘I’m sorry. I’m not a pervert. The gents is blocked off’. This was indeed the case, but it was nice to hear a man confirming that it was unusual for a man to be in a women’s toilet and apologising for being there. Living proof that good men stay out so bad men stand out.

It's almost like when you read in the Daily Mail that men are taking over women's toilets en masse and if you so much as raise your eyebrows at some hairy bloke pissing in the sink you'll get arrested... it's not actually true.

I'm glad to hear there are some decent men left who are aware of toilet etiquette.

More like, despite what Stonewall and the Guardian telling us that single sex facilities are passé and unnecessary and uncool, even young people value them.

As you say, good men are worried about distressing and upsetting women and girls but the perverts all flock in with glee.

Yes the apologetic male female toilet-users are so much more considerate than the non apologetic ones.
Jolly decent of this one to announce his non pervert status as well. Always good to have assurance.
