Twitter/X is also an open forum where all sorts
of opinions about people are expressed, in far less moderate language. The internet is brimming with such fora. She’s going to be busy if she needs to bring them all down.

Or maybe it’s just “mums” she wants to shut up? 🤔

So:

She hasn't read the thread in question, simply relied on a claim by someone on Twitter.
She claims she will report Mumsnet (not just the thread, but the site) to the Metropolitan Police, and even tags them in, because obviously the Met don't have more important things to deal with than reading an internet forum.
She is reporting Mumsnet, not because of anything that has been said on Mumsnet (she hasn't read the thread, remember) but because some people on Twitter have been rude to her, and she thinks they are people who have come from Mumsnet, even though she has absolutely no evidence that this is the case.
Having decided to report a popular internet forum to the police on the basis of not a single shred of evidence, she has decided to announce this decision to the whole of Twitter, with no apparent consideration for how ridiculous it makes her - and by extension her political party - appear.

I ask this question in all honesty: how is it possible for someone so lacking in basic thinking skills to be an elected representative?

Dawn Butler is a major reason why I won't vote Labour. It was bad enough when the Catholic Tory minister set up Universal Credit to make it harder for women to breach the sanctity of marriage by leaving their husbands. I didn't think that was acceptable then and that is a less awful set of beliefs than Dawn wants to force on us.

It was seeing that kind of guff on Twitter that brought me to MN in the first place just to see what was so awful. Never left. So suppose I should thank them for that.

MNHQ have my full contact details from a previous username when an up themselves Yank threatened to sue and we had to give our identities to MNHQ to keep our posts up. This was pre-pandemic.
