Thank you for sharing that - very measured and thoughtful response.

Yes its good to have his perspective on it.

And was quite surprised that C4 News interviewed him.

Hopefully we will see more 1-2-1 interviews with professional clinicians on this going forward, rather than the panel interviews with Peter Tatchel/Stonewall/random vocal trans woman schleb of the day who shout them down. There needs to be a less discursive approach to interviews and reports on this and a return to balanced, researched/fact-based, pragmatic reporting. Have been a little heartened to see the interviews of the Irish psychologists/psychiatrists making MSM.

excellent interview, highlighting how schools guidance should realign with medical knowledge. Also the importance of including parents who hold a deeper wider knowledge of children they care for. Personally I feel this might be a stumbling block for the schools with poorer parental relationships.

What an excellent response.

Yes, very sensible.

It's very reassuring that we are edging closer and closer to pinning down what these children mean when they say they are trans.

As we know from here, the answer that your gender identity doesn't match the sex you were born, is complete bollocks and falls away under scrutiny.

So You need to find out why the child thinks the're the opposite sex. And as he points out, social contagion is part of it, but what are they actually spreading?

What's the narrative? Explicitly.

You're a girl because...

You're a boy because...

Let's hear it.

And on another note, I notice that the concept of being non-binary seems to have fallen right off the table as a result of this guidance 😁

Perhaps claiming you don't have a sex at all, is a bridge even further than claiming you're the opposite sex.
